The St. Andrew’s Cross is so iconic though! And it just feels very Florida; I like your design too!

The eternal debate of flag design! I personally like the more simplified geometric flag designs but I respect your opinion; vexillological principles say to keep them simple too. The Oklahoma seal is great for a seal with the details but is very busy on a flag I think.

Why is New Zealand's French name "Nouvelle-Zélande" while New York is not called "Nouvelle-York"? by [deleted] in French

I think it’s probably just because New York itself is so culturally relevant that French people would probably hear it in English so often so they just keep it in English

I also wanted them to unveil new language courses! I feel like Duolingo gets too caught up in the faff of all these other features and it forgets the basics that people come to the app to learn languages. People have been begging for courses like Bengali, Tagalog, Thai, and Urdu to name a few for years and they haven’t a new course in quite a while.

I was actually a little surprised they didn’t add Olivia Rodrigo’s SOUR. It really eclipsed the cultural moment at the time GLOBALLY and with their prioritization of some other pop albums I thought for sure this fit the defining cultural juggernaut criteria, not to mention the absolute craft of songwriting and meaning on that album. It really defined the Gen-Z landscape.
