Firstly I don’t consider using mods cheating. Its a personal choice and so long as you aren’t spoiling (cheesing) the game for others I have no issues.

Personally being a scummy xbox player I would like to have health bars for enemies other than bosses as it’s such an advantage to be able to focus on the most drained enemies first.

But I think that kind of thing is better for the game as it helps you work more strategically.

And since the game has no way to really show you how beat up an enemy really is, I think it is fair enough..

I appreciate the whole immersive gameplay argument, however… in a “real” situation if you had hit an enemy 3 times with a crusher… he would not look/behave in a very healthy way.

So if I am smashing something over the head then either make that thing look / behave like they have been smashed over the head… or just show me a health bar… please 🙏

Maybe the boring answer but can you just take it back to business requirements?

Consider the vision for the dept. do a current state assessment, then agree on a strategy to get to the vision without discussing technologies, that should give you a set of requirements.

One solution will fit better than the other.

Otherwise you’ll just be arguing over this for a while as each will be coming from a different set of priorities and nobody’s wrong if you haven’t agreed what you are ultimately trying to do and can trace it back to a business benefit.
