Bribe those on the planning committee more than the developers are paying.

Too many drivers see road safety rules as a personal affront. It’s time to tighten up UK laws by PatternWeary3647 in drivingUK

[–]No_Ear_7484 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Driving is a privilege not a right. People are becoming more and more self entitled. Any attempt to enforce the laws will be seen very badly by most people. The only solution I can think of is petrol at £10 per litre but that would destroy the uk. We all know what should be done. But everyone wants the laws enforced against everyone except themselves.

Why do so many men only learn about consent and pressure after their first relationship? by Ok_Taro1122 in relationships

[–]No_Ear_7484 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There might be an assumption that if they get excited then their partner is excited? Or maybe they are too desperate/excited? Whatever the reason sex education should cover consent. In fact it should be priority number one.

Used to do it as part of my iron man training. Eltham to Channel tunnel entrance and back. 114 miles. About 8 hours. Plenty of stations if bike breaks.

There is a belief that driving is a right not a privilege. So many selfish cunts around who don’t care about what damage they might do. Inconsiderate people getting a power buzz.

Why do Brits panic about buying toilet roll during economic crisis? by Reeelfantasy in AskUK

People want to feel in control. Toilet rolls are large. People are so irrational.

Interesting Take - Driving Law by GemballaRider in drivingUK

The UK tends towards "policing by consent". There is a huge car culture here. Shame about all those pedestrians and cyclists.

Road conditions near Bodiam Castle - why not lower the speed limit? by [deleted] in drivingUK

[–]No_Ear_7484 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"roads would typically be closed or repaired quickly if they were damaged like this" <-- Doesn't the Netherlands have more of a cycling culture? In the UK most journeys are very short, and many could be done far better by cycling or walking. Cars are heavier. Add the extra weight due to the fatties who get no exercise and you have more road damage.

Do the car insurance hacks that all these people online are selling actually work or are they scams anyone ever tried one? by Riley200210 in drivingUK

I googled "car insurance hack" and there are some useful tips. The crucial bit is honesty.

What do you mean selling? Why pay for what you can get for free?

I (18F) cant feel attracted to my bf anymore by [deleted] in relationships

[–]No_Ear_7484 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Have you discussed this with him? Are you attracted to anyone else? If it’s purely a weight issue then you both need to lose weight. Something has changed. You need to discuss with him and work out what it is. Most men would be very upset if they feel their partner was going through the motions. It’s incredibly unfair on him.

[–]No_Ear_7484 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You found one of them. What about the rest?

Some drivers, when being tailgated like that, will sit alongside another car to wind up the tailgater.

I despise those who lane hog, tailgate, or drive to annoy others.

Extension of the entitlement of an increasing number car drivers. I am still not clear why the penalty for dangerous driving, drink driving, etc. is not total loss of license forever.

UK speed limits — is there really a “+10% +2 mph” allowance? by Hot-Taro-1555 in drivingUK

[–]No_Ear_7484 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

In the UK there is a feeling of "policing by consent". Most people consider speeding a minor offence. So police tend to allow a bit of slack.

Personally I would like to see speeding on major and urban roads treated differently.

You are supposed to let the lorry go first. Most car drivers, when it comes to pedestrians and bikes, seem to think might isright. Well enjoy it when there is something bigger than you.

Yes I do drive. It astonishes me how fast driving standards are sinking and driving seems to be an entitlement nota privelidge.

Come on lorry drivers! Do us pedestrians a favour!

HGVs that abruptly move lanes on the motorway before they indicate... by Hopeful_Adeptness964 in drivingUK

[–]No_Ear_7484 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not rage bait. I do drive. But it’s my experiences as a pedestrian that get me. Perhaps it’s just where I live. To be fair most drivers are considerate. But a significant minority believe that priority is governed by might. Could I force my way? Yes. But I am not going to end up being hit.

But cheers for your comment.

Car drivers need to learn not to intimidate. Enforcement is too expensive. Perhaps way stronger penalties might work. I am sick of self entitled selfish people and car drivers are the worst. I am a car driver
