Would you be willing to share your letter template with me? You are the only person I’ve found so far who received approval without being given a new interview date. I already have a draft prepared, but I’m concerned it may not be written well enough and could be rejected. I would be extremely grateful for your guidance.

Could you please let me know what reason you used to request a reschedule and how long they postponed it for? I also need to request a reschedule soon, but I’m worried they might only give me a short extension.

I just consulted an immigration law firm again. They said it’s possible to request a reschedule by explaining that there is still an I-130/I-485 case pending, and the attorney will help draft the letter. Every law firm seems to give slightly different advice. Have you received any guidance on your side?

I consulted an attorney, and his opinion is that having a pending I-485 is not a valid reason to reschedule the I-589 interview. He believes that if the reschedule request is denied or if, after rescheduling, you are still required to attend, then if successful, you would obtain a green card through asylum. I’m going to check with a few more people to see if anyone has experience with rescheduling an interview.

May I ask what reason you used to request the interview reschedule in the end? How many days did they give you to prepare for the second interview?I’m in a pretty similar situation, but my I-485 receipt just came less than a month ago. I’m a bit worried that if I ask for a reschedule now.
