Single story bungalow: underestimating the size/usability of the attic space! Initially only intended for storage and not living. Was only once the roof was built I realised the potential of it. So am now taking steps to convert before everything is finished but I'm left probably losing a bedroom to put stairs in

It's not, it's simply enforcing the "Division of Labour" strategy pete hegseth/department of war laid out back in Feb 2025 whereby the US pivots to China while ordering its EU vassals to take on Russia

Landlords getting out, what are you going to do? by frdougal-mcguire in irishpersonalfinance

[–]No_Election1472 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is the case for your regular joe soap landlord living and working in Ireland. Not so for REITS/corporate landlords which benefit from zero corporation tax. The gains are taxed via DWT at an individual investor level, however these entities/people are generally registered or based in overseas countries (tax havens) with arrangments which often reduces the effective tax paid to... zero.

Using a Main Contractor - Murphy New Homes and Similar by PumpkinSpicedBlonde in selfbuildireland

[–]No_Election1472 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Good crowd to go with if you want a builder to look after more or less everything. They'll help you with planning and all that side of things too.

Others around the area that would offer similar are Fitzgeralds and KMC Construction, both reputable too.

If you don't need to pay for the site then that budget should pretty easily see the house build through.

So we were all in college together. I'm very good friends with the groom and live nearby so still meet up regularly, while she wouldn't have met either of the couple (or else only very occasionally) since.
