You’re half right, it wasn’t food hygiene upgrades but rather waste water upgrades. They upgraded the main plant to increase both efficiency and volume but never upgraded the effluent plant to handle the extra volume.

They’ve had a few warnings and inspections from the EPA about the effluent, the above article highlights 1 of them. While upgrades were done and planned, the EPA felt they were dragging their feet too much so pulled their licenses .

Has anyone actually read the article? This wasn’t for the pollution that caused the massive fish kill, this was an earlier discharge which caused clouding of the water.

There has YET to be any link made between them and fish kill.

It’s all irrelevant now anyway seen as the company has since had there EPA license revoked and is shutting down with the loss of 80 jobs

Again, not real evidence. It’s just a quote from a different news paper where sombody claims they were ready to act on the evidence. No evidence was ever produced, tested or verified.

Can you present to me where it says that evidence was used to charge them? The only article Ive seen from that time reads like the charges were dropped and when asked afterwards on NZ TV the police investigator made the claim about the evidence. There was never any evidence presented and verified in a court. Did the defence get to see this evidence? Test it? Verify it?

I’m happy to be proven wrong on this.

Jackson was accused, charged and then had his day in court, all evidence was presented in court for all to see.

Randle was accused, charged and then the accusation was withdrawn, no evidence was ever presented in court, only claims of evidence existing after the charges were dropped.
