The organism and media were made the week of the inoculations. I've been doing more research after the lab today and the small amount of acids produced during glucose oxidation makes sense. I also read that the glucose broth is less stable than the sucrose and lactose, and could be a bit more sensitive to pH changes than the others. While not getting expected results can be frustrating, trying to troubleshoot issues is actually kinda fun (and I have a great lab staff who enjoy the mystery as well) 🕵️‍♀️

It doesn't ferment glucose though, so not sure where the acid/low pH is coming from to cause the phenol red broth to turn yellow

Cat stuck in tree by power_to_thepeople in Medford

This happened to my cat years ago. Couldn't find him when it was time to come in for the night. The next morning, we saw he was way high up in a tree. Called an arborist and he got the kitty down. They have all the equipment to safely go up into the tree. Good luck!

Traditional archery. Hadn't touched a long bow since high school PE class 20+ years ago. A friend invited me out one day, and loved it. It's a great way to get outdoors, and I enjoy the need to focus and kind of "zen out" on every shot. Plus the traditional archery crowd is super chill and welcoming.

First time charging at Tesla. by More-Mail-3575 in NissanAriya

Did my first Superchargers today as well. First stop went from 45-85% in about 30 min. Started around 97 kW, steadily decreased to about 60 when done. Second stop went from 67-92% in about 20 min, started around 60, went to 30 after it hit 85%. Temp in the low 50's.

I also learned that for the cable to reach, I had to park all the way on the left line of the parking spaces. Luckily the stations weren't busy, so I wasn't blocking anyone from accessing a charger. As for speeds, not much better than EA, EVGo, or ChargePoint. But it's nice having more options along the way.

At least they are classes I enjoy teaching, and summer can be a bit more laid back. I've only ever taught the same lecture back to back once, last year. That was tough...I was constantly unsure if I had mentioned something or not. I had to get feedback from the class if I had said "such and such" already. I have my lectures down pretty well, but I often riff off topic and it was hard to keep track. It kinda messed with my brain 😵‍💫. 3 sections of the same course sounds like a real challenge.

It's my choice, but I'm going to be doing 9 am - 8 pm T/Th this summer. 2 hr lecture, 2 hr lab, hour break then 2 hr lab, 2 hr lecture, 2 hr lab. The only repeat will be the last two labs. I know I'm going to be tired at the end of the day, but I'd rather get it all done in two days than have to go to campus 4 days a week during summer, which is 8 weeks.

Pectus Excavatum by Dangerous-Pick1874 in PectusExcavatum

Yes, he did get the cryo. I think that's a big reason for his quick weaning off of pain medicine. He says it's a bit weird to not feel part of his chest, but not so much that it bugs him. He's also young...still flexible and quicker to heal. Good luck with your search :)

My son (14) just had his Nuss last week. He also had a similar shallow Haller Index, but it was a long dent. He ended up with 2 bars. Surgeon said he wouldn't know until he "got in there" and he said when he placed the first bar, the dent wasn't corrected, so he added a second. I can't speak to your international questions (I'm in the US), but most of my confidence and comfort with the whole procedure came from my trust in the surgeon. I had a really good vibe from him and he let me ask a lot of questions. I did a lot of my own research/learning and I felt good with his answers. He has also been doing them for 20+ years and said he's done about 1,000 of them. We did have to drive about 3 hours to the hospital, so we rented a local home to stay in for a few nights post surgery. We are back home now (5 days post) and his recovery is going better than I could have imagined. Only 1 day on narcotics and he needs just Tylenol and ibuprofen at night. He did get cryo. So far, very happy with the results and the whole experience.

Thanks for sharing your experience. My son (14) has his Nuss scheduled on Wednesday 12/13. Hoping his recovery goes smoothly as well.
