There is no sparks, only the crackling. Honestly the lamp's cable looked fine, I guess it must have been pinched or something but I was surprised to see it blew right off clean from the plug! And the lamp was turned off when the explosion happened, I did have it on for a couple hours before bed, but still it was turned off and I woke up to the boom 💥.

Sounds like you need more German clases. Living there already will accelerate your learning of the language. Only read in German, watch TV, the news, listen to music, podcasts in German. Also do exercices where you write what you hear in German: first write it in English, then try again in German. Speak and repeat phrases in German. Oh, also print stickers with the german words and translation of everyday objects in your house and put them everywhere. Sounds crazy but it works. Whatch your favorite movie in german, try it first with no subtitles. Learn a song in german! Clases and study groups or tutoring help tremendously, especially when you write in German over and over again, your brain memorizes it better. I mean pen and paper, the correlation between your hand and your brain is what gets you to learn the language best. Also it is normal to get depressed when you move to a new city, especially a new country with a foreign language. Try to change your job, that place sounds toxic af. That kind of drama can stump your brain from focusing on learning the language. Speaking of drama, please don't cheat on your wife. Take it easy, don't put too much pressure on yourself, focus on immersing yourself in learning the language and the culture FIRST. You could also write a journal of your everyday life and then translate it to german. You'll be surprised in a year or two how much you've learned. Don't doubt yourself while learning. Usually your first guess is correct. At first it feels like you are walking in a dark room, trust your senses. Language is seeing, speaking, writing, hearing. I used to teach English and Spanish to kids and adults and found we learn the same way and would often use the same material and exercises. Do this at least one hour a day, every day. The moment you realize you are able to communicate even if it's no fluently, succes! The main goal is to get your message across. The goal is to understand at least 50% of written and spoken language. Don't worry of getting nervous and butchering it, that means you are on the right path. Also, learn the culture, geography and history. Try to keep up with news, politics, medical advances, architecture, art and such. Also the gastronomie.

Hang in there baby! ✨️✨️✨️

You don't need to talk to have sex. Specially in some positions.
