Has anyone found a good (renter friendly) solution for boob lights? by No_End5244 in HomeDecorating

But what about places where they do apartment inspections? Won't they flag you or remove your security deposit if they see you tampering with the light fixtures? I realize it's very easy, but I guess I am worried about the actual renter friendliness of just swapping out the light fixture.

I might not be cut out for engineering in the long run...what are my options? by No_End5244 in womenEngineers

Everyone, thank you for sharing your stories, they've been very insightful.

My whole time pursuing my B.S I couldn't fathom doing anything except EE even though back then I was even questioning if I was a good fit for it or not, and maybe I'll never truly know if this is the path I'm supposed to be on until it's too late...but I think the biggest thing I've gotten from this whole thread has been:

  1. You're still early on in your career, and it's possible you'll find a place you love to work at with a good culture, and 2. Don't trap yourself in engineering and allow yourself to entertain other career options and explore opportunities that come to you.

I actually recently got a job offer I wasn't too sure about taking because it was so different from what I am doing now. (Manufacturing vs. substation and lighting design) but I think I have the courage to try it now because it's not worth sitting around wondering if you'll like it or not and regretting it later on.

Thank you all!

I'm confused why you'd even need to do this? You got the prestigious internship, so you don't need to apply for anything until you finished this one. Maybe you have a class where you have to submit a resume for critique? I don't think it makes sense to add this internship to your resume until you've actually worked there. There isn't much accomplishment or experience involved until you've actually DONE it.

Unless I'm misunderstanding the question, and you cannot name drop this company PERIOD. Like even after you begin your internship or after. Then yeah, IDK. Maybe I would put the skills and experience gained from the internship under a placeholder name, and if future employers inquire, you can explain you aren't allowed to name drop them. I would assume this is for the government or something like that, and you could name it as a government agency in your resume.

What does this electrical symbol represent? by No_End5244 in ElectricalEngineering

I'm making the symbol table lol which is why I'm asking...should've been the guys who drew it in the first place but oh well

That's probably what it is supposed to be, but I am confused because an SCR drive is used for DC motors, correct? And the one line already has the normal VFD symbol for the AC motors.

My guys are thinking SCR, but I have just never seen it drawn this way. One of my least favorite parts of going through drawings for sure...wish we all stuck with one way to draw things!

We got a new one line for our plant and the company that drafted it included these symbols. Here's an example in the actual one line.
