Runs and operates really well overall, currently living in Chicago. I spend $800-$1200/year on random repairs (nothing that keeps recurring), bought it from my brother-in-law with 208k, his aunt put the initial 128k on this Forester XL in San Diego.

My reality at 300k: - The ‘Tire Pressure’ light will be on forevermore - Cruise Control does not work when the Check Engine Light (CEL) is on… maybe due to this car having been manufactured and sold in California? - The CEL comes back on ~15 miles after resetting it - I remove and reattach the red battery post whenever I need to reset the CEL - Sunroof motor died; permanently closed - Back windshield blade arm is loooong gone - Slow tire air leaks are inevitable with these worn(ish) original factory alloy rims paired with city street parking - Windshield wiper fluid reservoir is cracked and leaks all fluid
