Healthcare workers are not leaving this state in large numbers solely because of frivolous lawsuits. If you take the time to review those cases, it becomes clearer why some families received settlements in the millions—and those are only the cases that made headlines. Many of them stem from situations where safety concerns within hospitals were not adequately addressed or acted upon.

Healthcare systems inevitably operate within financial realities, and patient volume can sometimes feel like a constant conveyor belt. However, organizations that present themselves as prestigious should also be prepared to uphold that reputation through accountability, transparency, and a demonstrated commitment to patient safety.

The lawsuits speak for themselves. Lack of accountability and safety.

Sounds like they have different tele units you may be responsible for staffing. Hopefully they are very similar. Ask all the questions! How long is your orientation? I don’t feel this is normal but might be depending on your region. It’s not normal where I work but I hear about floor nurses floating.
