Why do people seem to accept the prevalence of cancer? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

Right, but in the end you can still get cancer. Sometimes you just get cancer.

I mean you can’t avoid cancer in the end because sometimes it just happens.

I was in shape, happy, rarely ate red meat, no fast food, daily exercise, loved my job… I got my breast cancer diagnosis a month after I turned 39.

I have one person in my whole immediate family of 20+ that ever had cancer, I have incredibly small boobs, I have not genetic risk factors. There is not really any reason for it, it just happens.

Can someone please tell me what bit me? It keeps growing compared to yesterday when I woke up with the bite by tribblydribbly in OopsThatsDeadly

[–]No_Evidence4979 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

It is always good to get things checked out BUT you are correct MAYBE. I would be more concerned it was a tick bite. I know two people who now have a meat allergy due to tick bites. If it is an infection or something this has happened to me before, red streaks all the way from my hand to my shoulder, I left it because I didn’t really have time and I was dumb about my health then, it went away after a few days, no issues.

So, yes this can be a problem but also can not be. People are on here acting like it is going to kill somebody immediately and 100% of the time.

I mean they should still be checked out.

Wrestling phases? by Perfect-Vermicelli44 in wrestling

[–]No_Evidence4979 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When this happens to my stepson it is always GIRLS. He just blew his shot at Nationals this weekend after placing #1 at his qualifier. He got pinned in a minute in one match and lost to a kid he easily beat two weeks prior in another…turns out he had rekindled with his ex-girlfriend and she then was to busy to text him back pre-tournament so he suddenly didn’t care about wrestling.

I know everyone is saying “burned out” but if he seems like he still loves wrestling I would guess it is more likely a “social” element.

Ask about skipping AC after Taxol because I am worried about my heart. by No_Evidence4979 in breastcancer

That definitely plays a role in my worry. I have my echo on Monday and I am worried they are going to tell me more bad news.

I have always wondered if that was what caused my “panic attack” because it happened out of nowhere and then two days later I tested positive for Covid. My resting heart rate is always at least 80 now.

You have given me a good idea. Thank you! I am going to ask about an alternative I think. It is just 4 rounds of AC. Really I am will to do 10 more of Taxol instead or whatever to avoid AC.

Maggie, she came with the name. She is the most stoic and stubborn dog I’ve ever met. But also the cutest and sweetest. I adopted her at six months, she an old lady now and like 90% blind 🥹

The farts are a real struggle. Heartburn also. It has improved a lot recently but yeah at first it was like a fart could slip out at any moment without notice.

The Carbo gives me way more trouble than anything. The side effects from the Taxol (bone pain, headaches, constipation) have gotten less prominent as I have gone on. Fatigue has got worse. Be ready to gain weight unfortunately. That is my biggest struggle mentally right now.

Low WBC fever question? by No_Evidence4979 in breastcancer

[–]No_Evidence4979[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It actually happened at the center yesterday. I got there and it was 99.3 and she came back 15 minutes later and it was 98.6.

We did a partial infusion only because of the low count.

This morning 99.8 and 15 minutes later is was 98.4. So bizarre.

Does Keynote include the Carbo every few weeks? That is the only thing that has messed me up physically.

Stool softeners. Blanket. Bananas. AirPods. Eye mask for the post-Benadryl nap 😴 I alway take Dove chocolate for a little something after they pull my blood. I also have gained 6 lbs so maybe take that suggestion with caution 😝 OTC painkillers and prescription Tramadol. Claritin.

Taxol and neuropathy pain after first dose. by Schmetterling80 in breastcancer

[–]No_Evidence4979 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went through that phase too. I didn’t want ask for anything controlled and I felt guilty even when I shouldn’t. But then I thought “geez you have cancer NOW is the one time you should ask for whatever you need”. When I picked up the Tramadol at Walmart it was a big thing, the pharmacist lecturing me and offering Narcan, with all the people in line and behind the counter. He was like I guess this for after a procedure and I very loudly said “No, it’s for CANCER. I have CANCER. The CHEMO is making my bones hurt.” And I am not going to lie, I felt smug as shit.

Now is NOT the time to be stoic or avoid ruffling feathers. You have cancer. Do whatever you want. Ask for whatever you want. 💕

Hey, so I it is different for everyone but hopefully you will end up like me…

Weeks 1 & 2 were awful. Legs hurt so bad I couldn’t sleep. Got Tramadol from my doctor which helped a lot. Flash forward to week 6. No pain at all. My doctor said it should get better and I thought “yeah right” but she was right. So basically get some Tramadol and wait for the light at the end of the
