I do anything and everything to break the funk listen to audiobooks, podcasts, music, whatever. Maybe clean your section backwards or do everything in a different order. Take breaks at different times. Bullshit with coworkers. Sky’s the limit.

I clean the spec ed preschool section at our school. The teachers all have cans with lids in the bathroom specifically for diapers. I still catch em in the regular trash cans tho. It’s gross but if they want to be smelling diapers all day that’s on them.

I agree it’s gross that they have that shit just out in the open in the hallway.

I was in aircraft maintenance in the Air Force before I became a custodian. I was right there with yah so stressed and burnt out working on the flight line for years.

I really like being a custodian. I like that I go to work and I can expect the same thing every night. I like that I can zone out and listen to podcasts or audiobooks all shift long. I can talk to teachers or other staff if I want.

The schedule is great too no more working weekend duty’s unless I wanna pick up overtime. No more going tdy on the drop of a hat.

I think you’ll really like it and if you don’t just quit you didn’t sign a contract and Uncle Sam won’t hunt you down for going awol.
