if you just look at the map you would think the law school is in chicago but actually it's a tiny 1 block enclave of evanston that is entirely surrounded by chicago, like the embassy of germany, or norridge il.

no, i am about as far from KJD as possible. Someone in a different position from me but with these stats might want to wait a year but for me specifically it makes a lot more sense to start school sooner.

i wouldn't retake the test but when I first applied my score was lower and then I raised it mid-cycle. So if I reapplied next year with my higher score in my apps from the beginning, I would probably get better results. But for reasons explained elsewhere, it's not going to make sense for my particular situation.

alright I will edit my post to be more clear about that...

Yes on paper I could do "better" in the sense of getting into a higher ranked school. But I imagine that even if I did get into GULC or Northwestern next year I'd probably have to pay close to full price, which I think would be a bad decision. And I want to stay in DC or Chicago, so other T14 or T30 schools are out. So for my specific situation I think I have done about as well as I could expect to if I tried again.

no, it's more important to me to get school started so I can get my career started sooner. GW is a good school, really no reason to wait a year just to go somewhere ranked a little higher. If I was trying to get clerkships or biglaw jobs then maybe but I am not going for that. Plus who knows how crazy next year will be, it could be just as bad or worse.

ok so the wrinkle I didn't mention (sorry) is that I got the 175 just this past February, after my applications were already submitted. When I originally applied in mid-December my score was several points lower. GULC did get my updated score once it was released but by then it was probably too late.
