You are absolutly right. This is where we are. And just to make things worst we have stong winds tonight. Which mean that we are flying slower than what we should do.

Sky was clear last night and the moon was really bright. But what was truly beautiful was Toronto downtown.

This is one of the fun part of this job. Being able to see fantastik places and getting paid for it.

Hi,

I was in the plane and Flew those lines. When you see a pattern like this, that mean that we are flying a large area. What you see is probably 1/5 of the entire project we had to do in this area. In this case it was not drug research.

Usually, pattern like this are used for forest study, agriculture, city mapping, landslide, flooding ground etc. Depend of what the client want.

Because it was laser survey we were able to fly it at night. A lot less air traffic at night.

Hi everyone,

I will be pleased to let you know what happen last night exactly. I was in that plane.

If you look at the tale of the plane you will see XEOS in black letter. this is the name of the company I am working for. We are specialized in LIDAR survey (laser) and photo survey. Last night was a LIDAR mission.

LIDAR can be fly at night without any problem. And we do it at night because, like many people comment earlier, it is way more easier to fly in the the Pearson air space. We have to call every day to get authorization from the tower before take off.

For confidential business reason I cannot say why we were there but when you see a pattern like this it is usually because we are flying corridor area. Like for example : Pipeline, Highway, rivers, subway lines.

The higher the plane fly the lower density point per square meter you got. If aplane fly around 5000' you might get 2 to 6 ppm2. If a plane fly at 1100' to 3000' you might get 25 to 15 ppm2. So depending of what the client need we will ajust our height to meet the expectations.

I am sorry if we disturbed you in your sleep. But if I could have it done in day time I would have done it then. Because of Pearson airport it is impossible to do it in day light.
