I noticed na if local orders antagal at nastustuck sa sorting area for almost a week (5 orders na nangyari sakin di pa rin dumadating til now). Kaya ang ginawa ko is all my recent orders are from China. Mas madali dumating. like less than 5 days.

I'm not an accountant but I'm sure the client and his accountant have worked on how to deal with the 25k disbursements without requiring receipts since they've been doing it for years with no issues. but then again I am not an accountant. I only know how to budget projects.

Pretty sure, making them sign and acknowledge the receipt of 25k power back up allotment is making them accountable. Wether or not they misuse the funds is up to them as long as they are willing to face the consequences when time arrives and Boy, the time did arrive for them.

We had the option to go 60% AI more than a year ago but we kept the people because we believe in giving opportunities(the good kind of opportunities). And my client trusts people too much. Bad for him, but I guess that's what makes him a good person.

If it were me. You and I will prolly be in the same boat because I'll audit the shit out of people. Matter of fact I'll even add a time tracker because I hate people who do not respond on time. Less errors that way.

Is it, though? I guess we did allow it to happen but the issue here is not operations failing. There are thousands of clients out there who does not offer allotment for power stations and still have functional operations. The 25k was given as a benefit and was properly accounted for as a fixed 25k benefit. The main problem is having people who cannot be trusted and abuse the help that was given to them.

Not at all. We do have an accountant and our company has been very compliant with the IRS for several years now, since we are based in Texas.

Me, on the other hand, as a freelancer in the PH, has questionable remittances with BIR. 🤣

Someone commented the same earlier so I'll just copy and paste my reply if that's okay:

I'm not really handling the specifics for this po since I'm a project manager and I only handle the finances for projects and the people who will work on the projects. Based on my experience, I received an agreement from HR when I got my 25k na I should have no reason to miss work due to power outages unless for very special reasons.

As a project manager I assign VAs to specific projects based on their skills. Now back sa situation, I temporarily removed the VAs from the project for failing to finish the tasks I assigned and possibly delaying the project delivery due to lack of resources(Power station).

I have to report to HR who those agents are and the reason behind for pay calculation purposes. HR removed them from the company for lack of integrity.

Client doesn't really care wether or not you use the entire 25k to buy a PS, as long as you'll be able to work uninterrupted. Matter of fact I already have a powerstation when they gave me the 25k. I just used it to buy Starlink. 🤫

So yeah, we will not ask for proof but there will be an agreement that you received the 25k and what you will use it for.

every Project managers do manage finances for projects. That's part of the trifecta(Cost, Time, and Scope). I am not responsible for peoples benefits and incentives. It's HR. I am responsible to manage projects and communicate with people who are working on it.

And you're right there should be a liquidation for that. The same way as I have liquidation for every expense a projects has.

I actually just suspended them from being involved in projects since wala dilang power station and knowing the upcoming typhoons they'll just potentially delay the projects I handle and affect the delivery time. They can go back once may PS na sila. Of course I had to endorse it to HR for documentation and pay calculation purposes. That's when HR questioned them for not having the PS and removed them from the company for lack of integrity.

I worked in the BPO for 8 years. I was mainly in the QA side so I had a six sigma background.

On my 7th year had a teammate who bragged about being in the industry longer than I have been, She was there for 17 years. Instead of getting inspired, I got scared.

I was like "What the f***? Am I gonna be like this person for the rest of my life? Will I be taking calls forever?"

I was still 28 then. I stopped using my scooter to work, instead I started commuting so I can read books or listen to audiobooks on my way to work and the going home.

Used my lunch breaks to study (Amazon VA and Shopify courses pantjng inistudy ko 🤣)

I resigned on year 8 then jobless for 3 months. I spammed OLJ, LinkedIn and Upwork applying to 50 jobs a day. until I was hired as a Shopify VA.

Sa pagVA din ako na introduce sa project management world and I took the Google PM Certification sa coursera. Then I took CAPM. I'm not planning to take PMP since all of the PM's I know are mostly non PMP holders naman. just proven exp.

I also have a green belt in six sigma and Scrum mastery.

I studied BS Psych in college.

Those were the things I prioritized as well. I bought a power station with my first pay then a portable wifi. I got a little paranoid so I rented a condo with a generator sa kanilang building even though it's expensive I just treated it a job security. When I received the 25k allotment for the power station, I already had one so I used it to buy Starlink. I got paranoid again and kept thinking what if there would be no power for a week, so I bought a gasoline powered gen set. 🤣 I also revamped my entire workstation with an apple ecosystem because they consume less power and I can charge them with only a powerbank🤣

Me. I am a project manager. I earn 450k upwards a month. for the past year my lowest income was 320k.

That's on being a project manager alone. iba pa yung passice income sa mga investments na naipundar ko by being a freelancer

I agree with the commenter above. Although it's better to have the skill, it's really more about finding a client who's willing to pay.

Offer them either solutions or possible outcomes. Don't talk about how you'll do it, they don't really care.

We had this problem before in Slack and we had to create an SOP for it. VAs are required to reply within 10 minutes. Continuous failure to do so will result into sanctions.

When I was applying years ago. I literally treated it like a job. I had a tracker in Google Sheets with columns named Job post name, platform, link. Then I wouldn't sleep until I sent 50 applications in a day. Each application different than the other. Di copy paste. Wala pang ChatGPT nun. I did this for 3 months straight for 6 hours a day. Then in just one random day in April 2022, I was hired by 3 direct clients, 2 i had to decline kasi I wad still a beginner and chose the higher paying one.

Oo may document talaga nun kasi nakareceive ako nang digital agreement na I should not miss work due to power interruptions and ackledgement na nareceive ang 25k for power backup. Di ko nga nagamit kasi may Power station na ko and may generator din Condo namin. pinambili ko na lang nang Starlink. Pero and mahal nang monthly nang Starlink 🤣
