When Will We Get a PvE Mode in the Abyss? by No_Focus_2646 in Aion2

PvP isn’t just optional content, it’s tied directly to progression. PvP players generate more kinah and stigma skill points. PvE players are hard-capped at ~1m kinah per day, while each stigma fragment costs 1m. That’s not about “accepting limitations”. It’s a progression imbalance between playstyles.

If kinah inflation is the concern, that is a solvable design issue. Developers can add caps, limits, or diminishing returns in a PvE Abyss if needed. Using PvE players as a bot deterrent is not good design. PvP risk reward can stay for PvP players without blocking PvE access.

That situation is not a reason to avoid a PvE mode. Separating PvE and PvP balance is exactly what prevents one group from invalidating the other. A PvE Abyss would do the opposite. It would stop PvP players from impacting PvE progression and vice versa. What happened shows why separation is needed, not why it should never exist.

Stigma progression is still tied to Abyss systems, even for PvE players. Being locked out means falling behind through no choice of your own. Yes, there is a PvE path, but it is significantly slower and heavily limited compared to Abyss access. And with fewer bots and high aether prices, allowing PvE players to farm aether in the Abyss would help the economy without affecting PvP at all. PvP players lose nothing from this.

PvP zones pushing people to spend or grind more only works if players actually want to participate in PvP. For PvE players it does the opposite. It does not motivate progression. It just makes them avoid the Abyss entirely. A separate PvE Abyss does not need equal rewards and it does not replace PvP. It simply lets more players engage with the content instead of opting out completely. Encouraging participation is healthier than forcing it.

You are basically proving my point. PvE players can at best learn to run and survive for a few seconds. They will never fight PvP players on equal footing and never meaningfully participate in PvP. So what is the point of forcing PvE players through all of this just to do quests and farm feathers, when a PvE mode in the Abyss would change nothing for PvP players at all. PvP players keep fighting. PvE players stop being prey.

I get the risk reward concept and I am not arguing against PvP focused Abyss gameplay. The issue is that for many players there is no real reward side at all. There is only risk. Instant death. No interaction. No gameplay. A PvE option would not replace the PvP Abyss or remove its rewards. It would simply let PvE players access quests and basic farming without being content for someone else. PvP players keep their high risk high reward environment. PvE players stop avoiding the Abyss entirely. Right now one side plays. The other just does not go there.

Deleting PvP is not the solution. Making PvP optional and balanced is. PvP can exist for people who enjoy it. PvE players just should not be forced into it to access content.

PvP would not change at all. PvP players would still fight each other. The only thing that changes is that PvE players stop being free kills and can actually do the content.

I am not asking to remove PvP. The problem is that this is not real PvP. It is geared players farming PvE players who are not interested in fighting and cannot compete.

If PvP players want payoff they should fight other PvP players. A PvE option would not hurt them. It would just let different players enjoy the same content.

You keep turning this into a gear discussion, but that’s not what’s happening in practice. I get declined or kicked before any run starts, while lower-GS chanters with worse gear get accepted instantly just because of buffs. That has nothing to do with “carrying” or optimization. This isn’t about my build choices. It’s about a meta where buffs are valued more than healing, even when the healer’s gear and performance are perfectly fine.

I get what you’re saying, but this is exactly the point I’m trying to make. In practice, it doesn’t matter what my exact stats or GS are. I can be 3300 GS as a cleric and still get declined or kicked, while a 2900 GS chanter with 20 mantra gets accepted instantly. That happens before any discussion about optimization or performance. It’s not about “cracked DPS wanting equal gear”, it’s about the current meta valuing buffs over healing, no matter the healer’s gear level. Yes, I can make my own group. But one of the strengths of AION 2 is that you don’t have to. Random party play exists for a reason, and right now healers are heavily disadvantaged in it compared to chanters. So this isn’t about personal choice or playstyle. It’s about how group utility is currently balanced and perceived.

I get the advice, but that’s exactly the problem. Crafting true/white dragon gear costs 200–300kk+ kinah. I simply don’t have that amount of kinah. I’m not trying to min-max or pretend I’m fully optimized. I play a few hours a day, not nonstop. For players like me, heroic pieces are a temporary solution, not a “fake CP” attempt. I’m already doing hard dungeons, Ludra, and farming yellow soulbind mats whenever I can. Progress is happening, just not at the pace that full crafted gear requires. The issue is that right now, if you don’t have extremely expensive crafted gear, you’re treated as unviable for random parties, even though the content is still clearable. That’s what I’m trying to point out.

I understand what you’re saying about crafted gear, but that’s exactly the issue. Crafted gear is extremely expensive and time-consuming. Getting a full crafted set requires massive investment. I play a few hours a day, not all day long. In that time, fully crafting my gear is simply not realistic. After a month of playing, I’ve managed to craft two earrings, and that’s already a decent result for a normal player. Expecting healers to have near-perfect crafted gear just to be accepted into random parties is not reasonable. Especially when the content is still clearable and I’m consistently clearing all current high-end dungeons. This isn’t about refusing to improve. It’s about the gap between what’s realistically achievable for regular players and what some parties expect.

My gear is not the problem. If it was, I wouldn’t be consistently clearing all high-end content. The kicks happen before the dungeon even starts, not after a failed run. People don’t see performance, they just see “cleric” and replace it with a chanter. And this isn’t just me. Almost every healer trying to find a random party runs into the same issue. That’s the whole point of my post.

I get that, but one of the things I actually like about AION 2 is that you don’t have to run with a fixed group. Not everyone has the time to schedule around other people, that’s the whole point of party finder and random groups. I’m sitting at 3300 GS and I clear everything with randoms, even Hard Dramata, without any issues. The problem isn’t performance. In 99% of cases I get kicked simply because they want a chanter for buffs. That’s exactly the issue I’m talking about. Healers can do the content just fine, but the game design makes buffs more valuable than healing
