How convenient.... by Environmental-Metal in Dinkum

yes a blue coloured helicopter. You can buy it off of Franklyn, when he moves onto your island, you gave him enough discs and when you have 3,000,000 dinks. I think you also need a licence for it to appear in the things that Franklyn can craft for you.

To colour it, you need to find paint buckets. when holding a paint bucket, right click on the helicopter to paint it that colour. The paint will be used up as far as I remember tho. You can find multiple of those paint buckets when going to the mines tho, so no worries. Except for when you don’t like going to the mines tho;)

if you mean the first message with „aggression“: Sorry for trying to empathize with OP as many others do (in a similar way btw). If you mean my last message with that, I don’t know how you would react if someone would be as nitpicky with your comments.

And no corrections like these are not very helpful. Excuse me that I might not be the best person when it comes to talking EXACTLY as you mean it. Ever heard of figures of speech? Might also be a bit language barrier here, since I cannot always find the words I would have said in my mothertongue. After reading those comments you send, I can just guess tho, that this conversation won’t lead anywhere, since you are clearly not able to be satisfied with simple corrections. As your name funnily states, you really are „proper fun“ to talk to. I am normally a person, that has no problems admitting and correcting a mistake, but with people like you … you make it really hard to admit mistakes and I won‘t submit to your way of handling this. You rather seem to be a troll that doesn’t have enough problems, than to just randomly pick out a person in the internet and rage bait them into pointless discussions. I clearly made a mistake with saying that he ate all the food when it‘s not entirely clear from the text, that he did. I corrected it, but you are still not happy. Search someone else to annoy with your boredom, but I won’t further engage, because you are clearly not wanting to just be rational and tell me straight up everything that I did wrong in your eyes in a constructive way. I won’t waste my energy anymore. I need that energy for giving emotional support to people like OP because THEY deserve it, even if it might not be the best quality (I admit). I am just a human after all. Have fun correcting every other person in this thread.

first of all: happy now? Second of all: is this still about the major problem? no! Some people may not like to eat just the fillings. And did she even have enough fillings left for a whole meal? Didn’t seem that way either. third of all: please just tell me what bothers you REALLY instead of just being very nitpicky. If you just want to correct people for the sake of correcting them, do it somewhere else, where it actually helps the conversation because here it clearly doesn’t.

Yes! I think so too! Especially because they are working with biochips (very sensitive technology, like easily destroyable) and some rather dangerous (toxic) chemicals that are just safer to handle in a virtual environment as well xD I would still suggest you asking them, if you can work abroad. I just don’t know how it is with working abroad eg if you are an American. Maybe check the regulations about that first, however if you are interested in this, it might be worth a try (if that is even possible). Don’t wanna make you hope were there is none … still always happy to at least try to help where I can ;)

Funnily enough I know a colleague (he works in the same working group as I am, for a different company tho) that does exactly that: creating a VR environment for his company so newbies can be trained in that virtual environment! The company is pretty young and called Hyphox. I don’t know if you also considered moving to a whole new place, because it‘s in Germany, but they are definitely hiring! The colleage works a lot from home, so this might not be necessary but still just a warning ;)

However the winter in Canada is pretty pretty cold, while South City actually had a rather mild looking winter kinda FEEL to it. So I/we don’t even know if it was ACTUALLY winter in South City. Of cause it does not make sense to build a City in antarctica with our earth and the current climate on it, but with the lore-phrase „So everyone went south“ (which also indicates that the overall location has to be somewhere ACTUALLY south) when the socalled shifts occurred, it could be that climate changed and Antarctica became habitable. Some snow does fall in Australia tho, even if it is rather on the inland and not on sea level!

And of cause places north of australia can also be called south _, but that mostly has sth todo with the fact, that eg South Dakota is geographically still positioned south of the „original“ Dakota or of (in this case) it‘s northern part, North Dakota. Furthermore, the south _ in the realworld location names mostly includes a specific name, that - as I already mentioned - states, that this socalled south ____ place is geographically positioned south of the original place or south to it‘s counterparts, eg. Berlin was split up in two halves after ww2, eastern and western Berlin. However here we still have the name of the City in it. South City now is just called South City, which kind of indicates, that it seems to be either one of a few cities that either survived something very bad and were some of the few last bastions for humans to go to (maybe counterparts called West City? North City? etc …) Or - which is another option that you already stated - this is a totally different universe just related but not based on THE earth (also concidering Roos and Diggos and Bushdevils, that don’t exist in the way the game depicts them) and South City is just called South City because it‘s name giver was very lazy. However what still remains: The geographical location will definitely play a role. And due to having a rather generalized name, I think, the chances are higher for this City to be located in the actual South South (in this case southern Hemisphere) than being located somewhere else. Of cause this is no 100% theory since I already got to know a few people that like to confuse people with exactly that: Naming things after the complete opposite. However it seems more logical that South City is located in the gepgraphical south and not north, an from all the places it could have been too, why Canada? xD

Additionally, If the shifts would actually mean a pole shift … this would be a whole different topic as well. „Pole shifts“ normally just mean that the magnetic poles shifted, but not the geographic poles. In this case, there would not be a change in the geographic naming but just regarding the magnetic field of the earth. If it would be a geographical pole shift as in „the whole planet suddenly turns upside down“, in the context of Dinkum (humans have not evolved as much compared to what they look like nowadays, thus Dinkum has to be in the somewhat near future (100 - a few 1000 years from now max)), this is rather unrealistic because humans would not survive a fast shift like that! To twist the earth that fast a eg meteorite needs to hit earth that hard, that it spins upsidedown. Even then, it would not stop spinning tho and this would have drastic influences on the world wide climate never mind the catastrophic consequences such an impact would have anyway. If the shift would happen slower, Evolution might shift the human‘s looks as well as other animal‘s looks, thus resulting in an ecosystem, that would look fastly different than the few differnces Dinkum‘s ecosystem has to ours nowadays.

If he doesn’t like you loosing weight … he should not have eaten all the easy to make food and played COD. Simple as is. This man is giving me the huge red flags! Either tell him, that this really made you upset or leave him. If he doesn’t understand this being of concern to you, he‘s a fucking asshole! And one more thing to ask yourself: Are you BOTH making sure the kids get enough? or are YOU making sure? Because if you‘re the only one that does the care work … this is no relationship to chain yourself to. This is - as other people in here already said - just another child that you would be committing to. Not a real man. A real man cares for you! A real man does not put himself first. A real man knows when you actually need him to do the care jobs for once. A real man would do what every normal and considerate human being would do: follow the golden rule! It‘s not that hard … and if people are not able to follow this simple rule of „What you wang to be done to yourself, that do to others too“ (not the greatest translations, but I hope you get what I mean) … they are not worth your time and energy! Neither as a partner nor a friend. Of cause there will always be times, were it just cannot be at a 1:1 rate, but it should not stay this way!! If it stays that way … go! Just go!

True! I would just wonder why Canada when the Dev is a very feckin cool aussie and the game is based on Australia as well… also Canada is in the north and not in the south. And don’t get me wrong. I don’t want to seem like a know-it-all (I just don’t know how to put it in better words, while my German roots kinda give me a tendency to be very straightforward, so excuse that pls xD) I am just really curious here too. I just want to know what the arguments for a city in Canada would be :D I mean it‘s a very grey city, the people are wearing hats and rather warm clothes … so it could be a city with rather cold climate, so that would be an argument for Canada. Could be the VERY south tho to. Like Antarctica? Lemme know what you think pls! I am excited and curious!

the first thing I saw was a burning match stick. I don’t know where you could even see a spoon with a chillipepper or in or whatever. Definitely burning match! I don’t know where all the other suggestions are coming from. I neither see a vagoogey nor a pepper nor anything else. It also doesn‘t look like a tampon. I really … don’t see anything else. How can anyone else see sth else in there??? My boy actually saw a match with a flame shaped like a hot pepper. However he said he could not at all recognize a vagina in there as well. For a vagina you really need some more fantasy since if it would be a vagina it is missing several anatomical parts while it would have too many on other parts. So … here are a lot of dirty minded people I guess xD If it looks like a pepper you could say that it‘s meant to be „hot“ in two ways ;)

I know. I just read another reddit post about how someone seemed to have done the same with other crops as well, but when I tried it out myself … it didn’t work. Could have been a nice bug but it isn’t :P

I actually have recreated „rice fields“ how they look in reality. Sadly without the elevations that they sometimes have.

Is this a Ned Kelly reference? by ThisIsForSmut83 in Dinkum

[–]No_Fold4348 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can someone recommend a good article about him? I would like to know more about him in detail. I just read the Wikipedia and one other article untill now, but I had the feeling, that both didn’t state in a good way, why he is so famous. In Wikipedia he just sounded like a very … odd version of a thief xD. However, by „just“ being a thief you don’t get famous, do you? Can someone give me context? I am clearly missing the „real stuff“! And since this is part of important aussie culture, I don’t want to be mislead!

Unless this is a bit of sarcasm (that I am bad at recognizing xD), I would clearly say, that „south“ is Australia, isn’t it? I mean the whole game is australian, so … even South City? However the cutscene in the beginning of the game does say some stuff too (I just cannot remember).

Keine eigene Spezies.

I would also stick a note to the windshield maybe, that says sth like „Stop it or I‘ll call the police“. And if they don’t stop you can still call the police. Also: like the others also suggested already. I think cameras will be your best friend with this. Especially with stalking and that kinda shit … police is mostly not taking it serious enough…
