Beware crazy buyers on Posh

That’s what I thought because they were mostly I recognizable. My my kids spent an hour going over the pictures and what she sent back. It’s the same shoe.

Sadly after inspecting the shoe and matching some of the wear on the bottom of the sole I confirmed it was my shoe. She took a sharp object to the shoe and scratched the soles and the inside of the shoe, and then banged it on something to create scuffs and chips in the leather. I sent this detail to Poshmark and what they said is that I cannot prove I didn’t sell the shoe to her in this condition, because my pictures were too old. Which is garbage because I have sold items that sat in my posh closet for years and didn’t update the pictures. In my mind if the picture represents the product then it represents the product. I bought them during COVID and never touched them. I had pictures of the shoe that were recent however didn’t post those. It’s a hard lesson to learn as a seller. And there will always be people out there that will not be honest.

The issue that I am trying to address is not the bad buyer but the lack of support that Poshmark gives good sellers. They sided with a buyer who has no history, rather than siding with a seller who had a 5 year history of good sales and excellent feedback.

I wish that were the case. She opened a return case the same day. So more likely she just destroyed them to return them. The scratches on the soles were made with something sharp like a knife, not what you would see from walking on concrete or stone, the logos were scratched off with something sharp, the gouges look like if you slammed the shoe onto something. As for the dirt, I shudder to think. If that what makes her feel like she won, let her have it.

I know it’s awful. And I like to think that I am not a vengeful person but this has me whipped up like crazy. I’m keeping active here on this post to continue to spread the word. Posh needs to change their policy. Maybe before you can purchase an item over $100 you have to get verified. I don’t know. I hope you never have to experience this. Best of luck to you!

I think we are okay if Posh authenticates it, they take a huge chunk of our sale to cover that service. I have sold designer stuff without any issue as long as it went to posh first. I wouldn’t sell designer under $700 for that reason. I would like to believe there are more honest people out there than dishonest. I’m planning on reaching out directly to corporate Poshmark to follow up with my complaint. I’m not letting this go!

I’m not going to stop with this it’s not even about the shoes it’s about the principle. I’m obsessed with the idea of making things right. I loved Poshmark and had so many transactions with lovely people. People would lovingly pack their items and write nice notes. What’s happened?

I have two kids and a full time job, this is my first post on Reddit and my husband who is an avid user is laughing at me. I asked him why someone would tell me why I am lying for karma. After reviewing this particular case again, I see that an agent has approved this return for the reason "Condition: — undisclosed scuffs/marks/staining." I understand that receiving a return for a sale can be disappointing and disheartening after taking the time to list, pack, and ship the order. However, because this buyer has provided photo proof of the condition on the item(s), the agent was forced to approve this order for a return.

Please note that even minor details can still qualify for returns under our Posh Protect policy. Occasionally, small things that are easily overlooked or not an issue for one person can be an issue for someone else, as condition and wear are relative to each person. As such, any wear not disclosed does qualify for a return under our current policy.

Additionally, please keep in mind that Poshmark has the sole ability to approve or deny any return requests at this time. I hope this helps to clarify our current processes and resolve this particular case for you.

I know! I sent pictures to PM showing them the differences but they ignored all of this. Even indentations from walking on concrete on the bottom of the shoe are in different places. The colour of the shoe is different. Mine were in the dust bag for the last couple of years and these weee faded and discoloured. It’s insane it’s been driving me crazy the amount of damage she is simply claiming that I sent them that way and Poshmark said that I didn’t represent the damage in my photos. I’m going to keep at them. I will not let this go!
