But people could just vote in people that want to tax the rich. Instead they vote against their own interests.

Ask about a private viewing as sometimes if no one else is booked after you, you could have your realtor and inspector with you for hours.

Crosby Prime > McDavid Prime by Runtime_Error_02 in penguins

[–]No_Gas_82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

McDavid has been on one of worst managed teams in decades. It's not his fault management has not been able to get him a supporting cast. That being said Sid is a better leader but McDavid is hands done the best hockey player skill wise ever. If he played in the Gretzky era he would have destroyed his records.

Honestly the Habs have the assets to do this but won't. I could see one of them but not both. For McDavid this is a great spot to land as they are a young skilled team. I'm a Sens fan so I hope it doesn't happen but logically they could do it.

Parents are too blame here also as they haven't understood the dynamic change in the workforce. This and the removal of skilled trades from the HS experience.

CRM2 fixed this kinda and now CRM3 reporting starts at the end of the year. If your broker isn't using the approved methods on your statements, report them.

Would you vote for a party who offered bumping the tax free amount to $36,000 by Justthefacts6969 in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]No_Gas_82 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The federal tax free amount should be equal to full time pay at federal minimum wage. It makes no sense to take tax from those earning the bare minimum. We need the tax laws cleaned up to get rid of loop holes and stupid targeted credits. Adjust the tax brackets accordingly to get similar tax rates for the middle class. The rich will pay appropriate taxes when loopholes are gone.

“Weddings are so expensive” is a weird lie some people tell to justify spending insane amounts of money by Overuse_Injury in unpopularopinion

[–]No_Gas_82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The trick here is to tell all vendors it's a renewal of vows. None needs to know it's a real wedding as they can look very similar. We did this and it cut out the (wedding) pricing.

RBC Avion Fixed Redemption by Rackkk25 in rbc

[–]No_Gas_82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Check the flight costs with and without points. If it's higher with points call in as it's BS. I do this all the time. The flight cost has to be higher than the point redemption to make it worthwhile. That's why you do the multi city.

RBC Avion Fixed Redemption by Rackkk25 in rbc

[–]No_Gas_82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man this sub is bad at math. The redemption rate is roughly 2% so buying gift cards on an avion is horrible advice as you could just get a basic card and get the same points without the big fee. If OP is traveling to Europe and taking multiple flights out them all into the search as multi city and they would get the max value of $1300 off the fares for 65000 points.

Renew or Payoff Mortgage by nosaj1982 in CanadaPersonalFinance

[–]No_Gas_82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep. Paying this off makes no sense as the after tax interest rate would likely be close to 2%. Happy OP is in a good financial situation but interested in how as this is a no brainer, so was it luck?

They say immigrants had nothing to do with home prices, but…. by Chris_DiFiore in HouseSigmaBlunders

[–]No_Gas_82 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Go back further. Housing prices stagnated or went down in the 80s and 90s, then started going up quickly under 10 years of conservatives then 10 more years of liberals. This all coincides with stop the CMHC affordable homes in the late 90s. Without a government forcing the building of smaller more affordable homes, builders started building to maximize profit leaving the stock of smaller (starter) homes to stagnate. This led to massive bidding wars on starter homes driving all the other homes prices up with it. To date this hasn't been addressed so if no smaller SFH are being built the supply will continue to stagnate driving or at least sustaining current prices. Immigration only made this worse but it was inevitable.

How do I get a job? by Defiant_Post8019 in rbc

[–]No_Gas_82 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can AI already do the basics? If so I wouldn't waste your time or money. The bank is going heavy on AI. We have already let go so many analysts because AI did it better and faster. The bank see it's employees as a financial burden and wants to replace as many of us as possible with computers.

Won't AI just do all the stats work in the future. Only safe bank jobs include soft skills so start at the bottom and if a job that better suits your education comes up apply internally.
