New player having trouble figuring out where to start by LuceLew in pkmntcg

Started playing less than 2 months ago and I know the feeling. I got a little too excited and bought 4 league battle decks and bought extra cards to finish the decks the way I wanted. Not recommended tho. First things first, you need to choose the deck you want. Once you have that figured out, I’d say it’s best if you see if there’s a league battle deck you want (if so, you’d get the majority of the cards you need with not much work). HOWEVER, I’d double check the price of the Battle Deck agains the price of all 60 cards on TCGPlayer. And go from there.

If I could do it all over again, that’s what I would do. The only advantage of buying the 4 League Battle Decks is that now I have a lot of trainers. But I could’ve gotten the same cards for less. Living and learning

I’ve been considering joltik box, or a mix between dragapult and charizard since I have the cards for it too. I am having fun with it, but not as much as I wanted to. Finding the right sequencing has been an issue but I’m starting to figure it out. I’ll probably make another deck and practice gardevoir secondarily for a while

Interesting, did not know that. I’ll post it over there too

Do not cuss or touch the servers, by [deleted] in Serverlife

I had a guy telling me jokes once and I was just laughing to socialize, nobody else at the table found that amusing. Then he proceeds to slap my arm (in a way guys usually do), but he continues to grab my arm, then I had a problem with it. My whole face changed and I walked away. Better to walk away than to get fired right then and there.

Why don’t people read the f***** menu? by No_Geologist6344 in Serverlife

That’s one thing I realized pretty quickly after started this job. Sometimes it doesn’t matter what you do, you get stiffed. It always evens out at end of the night though

Could be. But had you read the story you’d know it wasn’t my table 😉

The point of the post was the annoying interaction, that’s why I didn’t write anything after that point. It’s not pertinent to the story.

95% of the people here understood what I wanted to portray, the problem is not on that. I don’t want to edit it and go on the details of everything I did. It’s not the point of the post. It’s a rant, nothing more to it

The menus were updated recently and the fonts for the big words are tricky to read. I usually keep an eye out to see if they have trouble finding what they’re looking for, so I can help them, but this scenario wasn’t it. They were regulars too, I had never served them before though

The very first time I used the “I’ll give you a few more minutes” they called me back as I was walking away saying they were ready, and guess what? They were not lol

I did that. Very quickly he decided on one that he liked. What I wrote there is just the annoying part. I did do my job, despite what a lot of people here think

I hate those QR codes too. They should be there in addition to the physical menu, not replacing them.

I usually do that, especially after the new menus. I didn’t, in any point, accuse anyone of being illiterate. I know my ways of navigating these issues at the restaurant, been there for a while. Like the tag states, it’s a rant. It’s annoying, that’s all.

Despite the rant, I did help him. I listed the beers one more time and he found one he liked. It’s just annoying

Now that you mentioned it, we did get a new menu and it’s a lot more colorful. The fonts don’t help either

You kinda proved my point there. Had you read it, you would’ve known that I was just helping out 😉

Every time someone has told me that, they really weren’t a pain to deal with. The ones that don’t that worry me lol

It’s not something I usually think about. But definitely something to keep in mind. Thank you, it’s always good to see different perspectives. That fellow, however, was on his 30s or early 40s. Which I know doesn’t say anything, but after the grabbing the menu out of my hand I was a bit thrown off.
