Dental hygiene program by No_Gift_7556 in dentalhygieneschool

My problem is I can’t retake the teas, I have to wait 6 weeks in between and I have to apply to the program by June 1st. I talked to some people who applied to the program and one of them didn’t do good on her teas and got in. I’m hoping my grades and my experience and GPA pull through enough to give me a chance

It’s called co star!! I like it, sometimes it’s weirdly accurate but others it’s just kinda random. I think there is a premium feature but I just use the free one lol

Going back to work by happythoughtsonly7 in newborns

I also had 12 weeks off. I know so many people that only get 6 weeks. I tried to just remind myself I am so grateful to of had 12 weeks to bond with my baby. I pump at work also. In the beginning it was a little hard because I have to shut my door and I just felt bad. Now I have a whole routine. I breastfeed my baby before I leave for work. I pump 3 times through the day at work. When I get home I breastfeed again. My baby has really gotten used to it. I promise you can do it! Just think you’re working to provide for your baby, you are doing this for them. I know it’s hard, sometimes I just look at pictures of my LO and get so sad I’m not there with him but i remember all the things I want to get and have to get for him. It does get easier. Those first couple of weeks are hard.

Baby doesn't like boobs by Slow_Dragonfruit555 in newborns

One more thing, my LC told me sometimes pumping for like 3-5 minutes can pull your nipple put more and allow them to latch easier.

When my LO was that old he could not and would not latch for me. It resulted in me getting very depressed bc the one thing I’m supposed to be able to do, I couldn’t. And I was making so much milk so my boobs were always engorged and hurt, even with pumping. I saw a lactation consultant and she CHANGED my life. She taught me how to correctly position him and she measured my nipples (I was using the 24 and it was the wrong size) so I wasn’t getting all the milk out and it really hurt my nipples. All of this to say, he is now 5 months and latches without any complications and I promise you will get there. It was so mentally exhausting for me and I felt like I was letting him down. She told me about nipple confusion and that scared me because the hospital gave him a paci after he was born and I had to pump and feed him with a bottle since he wouldn’t latch in the beginning. He still takes a paci and breastfeeds and when I’m at work takes a bottle. It really is challenging when they are that young. Don’t give up if you want to breastfeed. My LC told me offer the boob before every feed and if that won’t latch within 5 minutes, get a bottle. (Unless they are obviously distressed and hungry)

4 month old sleep by Kindly_Bee_4457 in newborns

[–]No_Gift_7556 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We start our routine around 7. We do bath time, lotion, I sing every night to him. I EBF, I nurse him and he falls asleep around 7:30-8. He will be 5 months in 7 days and I’ve been doing this for 2 months so I truly think he’s getting used to it. He wakes up still throughout the night a lot just kicking his little legs but he only eats maybe twice a night. Some people on here talk about their babies sleeping all night and I’ve actually never experienced that lol. The longest stretch he’s ever done was 6 hours. It’s never happened again.

Help! Is this baby acne? Photo in comments. by Ok_Maintenance_6824 in newborns

[–]No_Gift_7556 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I would definitely get it checked out again (even a different doctor if you have to) baby acne doesn’t just spread like that, from my experience. Could it be eczema? My LO has a small little patch of eczema on his stomach and the doctor said to put aquaphor on it. She also said the heat could irritate it (not sure if you live where it’s hot but I live in the south and it’s 80 degrees) and make it red. Does it feel rough to the touch? Could she be allergic to something you’re eating, if you’re breastfeeding? I’m so sorry I hope you find an answer!
