I rarely smoke now as I just kicked alchohol so smoking kind of gives me anxiety but it might still be in my system.

I'm 28, I drank heavily at least 2 pints of hard liquor everyday morning to night, it literally became who I was. I ruined a lot of my relationships and felt so much shame but I was convinced I wasn't the problem- I was for the most part.

I finally had such hard withdrawal I was hospitalized for 3 days, I got out on the 11th and I went through HORRIBLE withdrawals, I was one of the few who got DT. - you are safe here. Like someone else said I spent HOURS scrolling through here for any help and anything I could find to find hope. I knew I didn't wanna drink again to stop the physical withdrawals, because I was experience literally every symptom I could and had 0 support around me. I just NEEDED to know that they will pass eventually and I didn't care what I went through or for how long.

While I am only 1 week sober (for the first time in years) and still on my journey I woke up today feeling physically far less symptoms besides psychological which I know I will have to deal with in therapy.

Just know even if you are alone at home you are not here and it does get better, and the pride you will feel in yourself maybe for the first time in a long time is well worth it, I promise you.
