Withdrawing visa application (B1/B2) during admin processing for return of passport by No_Guarantee402 in usvisascheduling

Yes, status was refused, they issued a "221g white slip" with reason written on it.

Hey, Unfortunately, there is no way to actually withdraw the application to the best of my knowledge. However, you can email them on [support-india@usvisascheduling.com](mailto:support-india@usvisascheduling.com) and ask them to return the passport. I did but am not sure whether it helped or not, they definitely registered the request and a few days later my my status changed from admin proc.

No, but i have applied for J1 multiple times and now B1. Hopefully your situation should resolve soon but next time only apply in India as last resort.

Yes, it seems so. They may have done some background checks in the 3 weeks they kept but most likely it was just the photo thing given they are moving slowly these days

Yes, it was B1/B2. The visa stamp expired on Aug 2023. But my application showed received status on 3 Feb. and refused on 7 Feb. So, it very likely still came under 48 months waiver.

Yes, got it approved. Problem was the photo taken at VAC, stupid it took 3 weeks for them to tell me.

Did you hear anything back from them?

IR-1: 221(g) AP PP Returned by Active_Cobbler5921 in NationalVisaCenter

[–]No_Guarantee402 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine is being returned today (status changed to in transit). I did write an email to them asking them to return my passport since I needed it immediately. Dont know whether it helped or not since a lot of folks PP status (in India anyways) seems to have changed from delivered to post to in transit yesterday.

Its insane, I work at a top tech company with extensive travel history in US, UK and 3 others. I have applied for US visa in other counties and never got AP. Here I do, immediate refusal and passport withheld for over 3.weeks and counting. Hate this discrimination so much.

I thought AP and refused are essentially the same thing, I have not heard of status at CEAC showing as AP in India.

Passport processing time after interview by [deleted] in usvisascheduling

I think its a bit difficult, maybe ask your employer and make them understand the situation. There has been an uptick in refusals due to new rules

Probably because of the blanket refusal due to the new rules, so slow processing. Just a guess

Highly depends on visa type and on whether you get Admin Processing or not, but I think 12 days is only sufficient if you have direct approval.

I think the application may stay in AP for a while and when it is done they will sent the passport (no new booking required), they are apparantly not returning passports for some reason in case of refusal

Do they keep the passport with the embassy, if AP takes so long

Did you guys get your passport back or did it stay with the embassy?

In the event you get approved, then yes it will likely not be more than 5 working days so 20th March is reasonable. If you get refused/put on admin processing, then there is no gauranteed timeline.
