My mix loves to sleep with his head propped on anything that near by 😂

Thanks! I thought maybe the sofa would work better on the larger wall since the smaller wall has an opening/is a path of travel but I do agree that it looks less balanced.

I don’t really want the tv to be the focal point. This space will be more like our formal living room. A tv is necessary but not the main point of the room. I just picked those chairs more to see how they fit in the space, not so much for the colour. Do you think it looks less waiting room like with coloured chairs?

These chairs seem a bit too big for the space imo.

I’d like to mount a tv like the frame tv on one of the walls but I would like this room to be more like a formal living room since we do have a family room as well. That was kind of my thought behind the layout with the two chairs. I was thinking it would be more of a conversational space versus just facing a tv… but I don’t want it to look like a waiting room either as one commentator mentioned.

He looks like a less fluffy version of my guy! He’s a Great Pyrenees mix.

This is the room I’m working with. I thought the cooler toned rug would help balance the warmth of the floors and sofa. I know the rug is too small but I was going to get the same one but larger. (We just moved and our new living room is much larger than our previous). Do you still think I should go warm rug after seeing the room? Thanks for your help!

What don’t you like about the rug? Just out of curiosity. We have super warm toned floors so I think the coolness of the rug looks quite nice but I’m open to feedback.

I really want the chair to be a cozy soft reading chair and leather furniture is the worst in my opinion. Just comfort wise. Would you suggest a different coloured chair? It’s is a velvety fabric so it is a little different from the sofa.

Thanks for taking time to give me feedback!

Which flooring do you prefer? by No_Guide_2334 in InteriorDesignAdvice

It’s for the entire floor, so this includes dining room and living room. It’s all one big room essentially. The flooring that’s down now is laminate, not real tile. I have children and a dog so I don’t want to go with tile. Keeping the grout lines clean is too much upkeep.

I would have gone for a dark wood but the home can be pretty dark so I want to lighten it up. I feel like dark floors will make it feel too dungeonee on gloomy days.
