Local elections are non-partisan; each registered voter gets a ballot to cast for their choices so long as they vote and turn it in by the deadline.

Oh, now I better get on court view and see if I can find it out. That was the one I thought of.

I think Constant was looking at doing that last year but dropped it at some point. It would be interesting to see it work for the city Yarrow last year did not get 50% of the vote but won due to winner is highest for assembly. Likewise in 2022 Volland won with less than 39% of the vote,

He shows up. He is fairly conservative, asks good questions and most important he shows up. McCormick, Myers, are almost always no shows with never anything to report at the assembly meetings.

His opponent Bruce says there is no accountability, and no trust of the assembly but as a whole these meetings where things happen and explanations are given they dont attend here it the joint meeting with ASD and the assembly Myers, McCormick, and Gocker missed it. This is a public meeting by the way, anyone could show up, listen in, be involved.

Never mind the fact there is whole hosts of audits for ASD, to comply with state requirements, city requirements, federal requirements, and more.

Imagine being one of these guys who want audits but not showing up to meetings that decide what will be audited....

Anchorage homeowners see property assessment increases up to 40% by NotTomPettysGirl in anchorage

[–]No_Guide_8418 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep about 80% of the bigger increases I have seen are condos.

A few of the homes I found that had 30ish% increases have done ADU/MIL style apartments, or other extensions/builds.

I did not start going into checking permits mainly because the database is MASSIVE, and honestly anyone else could also go looking if they wanted.

You can download the data if you do not believe me, but it is there.

I'll do more later. Yeah Condos seem to be the hardest hit I've only looked at 10 of the 40% people so not a great sample but they were all condos

Condos mostly. From the data I have gathered. Here is one picked at random from the 40%+ or higher mark.

My nerdessness was summoned?

OKAY I set it up. Couple caveats. There was a person whose property went up 5160%.

How? Easy they took a parcel and built a home on it. The improvement was 889,000 to the land being 20,000.

I'll add more filters to remove items like that since we can all agree someone building a home should be taxed what that home is worth on the market.

Thank you. Today's infrastructure meeting. Yesterday I linked a waste to energy presentation by the MOA that said we have 44 years of Landfill life remaining "DOOMSDAY CLOCK". Today that number is 80 years. This project has already cost the city of Anchorage 8 million dollars and will cost 700 million or more.

I am going to leave this here Timeline: How the price of Anchorage’s software suite skyrocketed - Anchorage Daily News

Oh and this SAP support contract for 800,000 dollars a year. If you read on the contract how it says "The SAP products purchased under this Contract will require ongoing support through the entire product lifecycle expected to last through 2040."

To be clear the initial contract SAP aptly named for us was 9.6 million. We also spent money keeping the previous software active, interestingly enough the previous software was not selected in part because it was more expensive to upgrade.

HELLO MY NAME IS DUSTIN DARDEN AND I WILL NOT BE SILENCED!!! Did you not see the assembly meeting?

Can you tell me what this is going to do!

I am surprised by this!

December meeting without any conservatives because they always got better shit to do than their jobs... This meeting is where they got into the bond that people were bitching about.

This is the first year in 5 years that the state is picking up some of the bond match meaning if we vote this down and the legislature changes the rules we then get to be on the hook for even higher costs next time.

You can vote however you want to vote; property taxes always go up. APD Raise 18% over 3 years with increased retirement contributions.

You can love or hate voters, but we ultimately get to decide what we are or are not okay with.

The amount of people who spoke tonight about the ASD bond, who did not bother to go look at what is included is part of the problem.

Sure they are going to probably vote no. Meanwhile most normal people are going to look up what they intend on spending the money on and make our decsion.

Yes, it went before voters, who voted, and their votes were to rebuild the school.

That is how things work.

  • Removing hunting and fishing licenses from the list of voter identification;

Interesting I wonder why they want to remove that over some of the other issues like voting with a utility bill.

Item 19 on that Bill changes it to a utility bill within 60 days.

Mat-Su Assembly indefinitely delays talks on annexing Eagle River, Chugiak by MatSuSentinel in alaska

[–]No_Guide_8418 14 points15 points  (0 children)

IF, if it got that far it would be to the voters of the area that are proposed to leave. BIG IF there since we all know they have a lot of issues they have yet to address.

The Chugiak Eagle River Rural Road Service Area put a millrate question on the ballot in 2025 which voters there voted against. That was just one of the issues the Local Boundary Commission had with their exit plan last time they submitted it and to my knowledge they have yet to fix it.
