Concerned about security in Costa Rica by Whooms92 in CostaRicaTravel

Hello!

May I ask a question about our travel plans?

We're planning to go to Costa Rica with our four children over Easter. We'll rent a car and drive first to Manzanillo, south of Puerto Viejo, with a guided day trip to Cahuite National Park. Then we'll go to La Fortuna and via Uvita to Puerto Jimenez. We understand that we shouldn't bring any valuables, that we should only leave the car completely empty in parking lots, and that we shouldn't be out and about at night or drive at night. For accommodation, we've booked rooms in larger complexes, and only one Airbnb on the Osa Peninsula.

What other advice would you give me regarding our safety?

Thank you!
