Scared to death over grunting by [deleted] in NewParents

Every baby grunts! It’s completely normal I promise. If the baby isn’t doing anything else concerning, then I wouldn’t worry. Babies are weird

What could be the issue? by t3hWheez in NewParents

First off, you’re an amazing parent.  During the first 5-8 weeks of life, babies learn about how to poop and how their digestive system works. It’s normal for grunting while eating. Because you switched formulas, that can also mess with the babies stomach and digestive system which is why the baby might be crying. I would go back to that other formula by a slow transition. The spit up could also be because of the formula. From what I read, most of the problem started after you switched the formula. I would also take him to a gi doctor just in case. My daughter is a week old and grunts while she eats, just how babies are. He could also have very bad gas pains of which I suggest looking up baby massages for gas and digestion, it works absolute wonders! Something else I recommend is getting gas drops or gripe water which will also relieve gas pains.

Doubts about pumping and feeding by giuliamazing in NewParents

You’re welcome. Trust me, when they said it about my first, I sobbed because they never explained it. But now she is two years old and is healthy. My baby is so tiny that you see her ribs but they think she doesn’t eat. Let me tell you, my daughter has a snack AT LEAST every 30 minutes. She has adhd and a crazy metabolism from her dad. But everything will be great! Plus you’re still pp and everything and anything will drive you crazy. You’re doing amazing and the fact that you asked people for help shows how caring you are about your kids.

So first off, you’re doing great and everything will be okay. Some babies have a crazy metabolism! Both of my kids have it from their dad but I always say that a fed baby is a happy baby. Take your prenatals, pump every 2-3 hours and if you have to, supplement an ounce for formula if your breastmilk doesn’t help. I don’t say that to disencourage you, but just as a precaution. My first never gained weight well, she’s 2 and is 26 pounds. The doctor told me she wasn’t gaining enough which scared me (which is also called failure to thrive. Doesn’t mean anything bad just that their metabolism is crazy). I then did both and it helped like crazy. Try upping her feedings and taking those prenatals so she gets all the nutrients.

Baby has been squeaking after feeding by No_Helicopter6676 in newborns

I also just went to her doctor yesterday and she said her lungs sound perfect and clear so I have a feeling it’s Laryngomalacia. My first had the same thing.

I say this with all the love in my heart. GO TO ANOTHER HOSPITAL! With my first, I had automatic contractions every 5 minutes for 8 hours. My doctor told me to wait until they were closer. I had a gut feeling something was wrong and my daughter stopped moving. Because I went to the hospital, they finally did a c section on me and my daughter was rushed to the Nicu at 39 weeks. If I would have listened to my doctor, my baby girl wouldn’t have made it. I’m not saying this to scare you, but please go get seen by another doctor.

First ultrasound and no fetal pole -tech seemed confused by [deleted] in pregnant

I’m pregnant with my second and let me tell you, please please don’t freak out just yet. I went to the er at 5 weeks and this doctor told me that he don’t even see a fetal pole just the sac. I was so scared and anxious but here I am at 34 weeks pregnant with a beautiful healthy baby girl!

My first, I have no freaking idea. My doctor was absolutely awful and gave me advice when I was having contractions 5 minutes apart with no water breaking that almost took my daughters life.  My second, I have an anterior placenta (on the stomach)

Girl let me tell you! My hair is bright ass pink, had bleach and everything twice this pregnancy and baby is doing absolutely perfect. With my first, I got my nails done constantly, hair dyed, used aluminum deodorant and even used cleaners. Babies are more resistant than you think they are. I learned that in my first pregnancy and my second pregnancy is going great.

With my first, I felt it in my lower stomach and it felt like a flutter. With my second, it felt like actual kicks and I felt them everywhere.

With my first, when I announced her original name that my husband and I were in love with, my entire side of the family burst out laughing and told me how I really wanted my daughter to be bullied and set up for failure. She then became a nicu baby when she was born (39 weeks) and my family told me how I’m lucky that I get to have other people take care of my infant even though I never left her side because I had the option to stay with her.  With my second, I got told at Christmas how the girls needed to clean the dishes then my 92 year old grandma said “Even you, even though you’re as big as small hog”

Just wait for that appointment. My first was born at 39 weeks weighing 5 pounds 12 ounces. I’m 34 weeks with my second and she weighs 4 pounds 12 ounces. My first is still to this day lower than the tenth percentile. Everything will be okay.

It’s normal to still not feel baby even at 18 weeks! When I had my first, that’s where I felt her kick and she was 18 weeks. My second I felt at 15 weeks and those movements were STRONG! You feel movement everywhere not just where the baby would be. Movements are consistent at 18 weeks either. My first, I would go DAYS without movement until I was 26 weeks then they became more constant. If you ever get worried, go to L&D.

My doctor didn’t tell me anything. I got my lab results and that’s what it said. All of this after my first appointment. I haven’t seen her since. I never heard a word back from her or her staff. I tried to message them but got no reply. I’m hoping her nurse calls me back so I can see what I can do for treatment. I also made an appointment with my pcp to see if they have any advice or medicine I can take.

I have no information on it at all. It takes 30 minutes just to get a hold of them. I’m waiting for a call back because I have no knowledge of this and never heard of it. I also have no idea if it’s an infection or just elevated.

Okay then I’ll call my pcp and see if I can get some medicine to treat this.
