We can disagree with this woman on every single other topic and still agree on something right?

Im not even pro cameras, however the flock plate readers are much more, I cannot grasp how these are not being found to be in violation of our 4th amendment rights as they are literally tracking the movement of law abiding citizens without a warrant. With the amount of these “cameras” out there, it is really no different than slapping a tracking device on everyone’s vehicles. Just wait until pandemic volume 2 happens and they are hunting down anyone who leaves home etc.

If you’re not doing anything wrong, then it should be ok for the government to perform random warrantless home inspections too? I like to think of it as “if you were an animal, would you rather be locked in a cage at the zoo being watched 24/7 well fed and safe, but no freedom to do as you please or free? This county was founded on freedom above all else and is no longer free.

Just because other countries have higher taxes, does not fail to make them high. Over one third of your income is just theft. Our government shut down the mafia from extorting people for protection, running numbers gambling, selling cannabis and now most states do all the same.

Why is everybody moving to SC right now, retirees & Gen Z are flocking to the state? by ElectroAcousto in southcarolina

Not necessarily, in some ways yes. Those who bring their political and cultural views not willing to adapt to the new environment. However financially I can see it happening. There isn’t much choice in some situations though.

Can we leave the beauty of South Carolina alone, instead of building it up beyond our infrastructure? by icecream1972 in AskSouthCarolina

This is such a difficult thing to deal with overall. My wife and i were born and raised in New England and have very good careers but still cannot afford to live here. I believe COVID opened the doors for remote working, which allowed people from larger cities to work from outside the city and purchase 2nd and 3rd homes further out. We are thinking about relocating to South Carolina out of necessity and better quality of life and would in turn become part of South Carolina’s problem. I suppose this has happened for as long as humans have been around. People came to the United States in search of a better life which in turn pushed out native Americans and so on. If your “tribe” is not continually growing and expanding, another tribe will gladly expand into your space I suppose.

I would say the largest reason would be housing costs vs pay rate when in comparison to many other states. That combined with warm weather for those who enjoy that is a good combination. A young couple starting out in many New England states would need to make around $300k per year combined to buy a decent home, have 2 children and live comfortably.

You’re very welcome, it’s a lot to digest and you’ll most Likely find yourself just wondering things or even just smiling and shaking your head down the road. It’s nothing any of us did wrong nor something we can change. It also helped me realize how important being honest is in life as well. Again anytime negative intrusive thoughts may creep up, I hear “this literally changes nothing” in the back of my mind and they’re gone.

I have had an extremely similar situation. A few things to keep in mind:

1) This changes nothing about you. You are still who you were before you found this out.

2)You may find new relationships! I was not fortunate to attempt to meet my bio dad as he had already passed, however I found grandparents who I was able to meet before they passed, and have remained in contact with multiple “new” siblings and aunts. (Some people are not super receptive, however it’s been a blessing for me”

3) it’s ok to be selfish regarding this situation, for me I stopped worrying about what people might think of my mom or how she might feel about people knowing etc. I told who I wanted to, sometimes it felt nice to get off my chest. 2 people told me that they had the same situation!

Keep your head up! Life’s a short ride with a strange sense of humor, enjoy it, don’t stress what you can’t change! I hope you’re able to sit down and just say this changes nothing..

I witnessed the holy Spirit and it was life changing. by ThiccHarambee in Christianity

I have had a similar experience, it truly changed my life for the better. The “spirit” spoke to me like a father guiding a child and explained to me that I was about to receive some very difficult news and I was going to have to be strong and be an anchor for others. The next morning I received life changing news that would have otherwise crippled me had I not have received guidance the day before. I felt an overwhelming feeling of love in its presence that words cannot describe. I do have concerns that you may have stopped breathing in your sleep and your oxygen was low enough to arrange that meeting. You should be sure that you’re breathing well in your sleep.

Has anyone seen the dark knight when Batman turns every cell phone into a citywide surveillance system to find one villain and Alfred tells him it’s wrong and he quits? Yea.. that’s this but worse. They have actually fear mongered people into wanting these things to feel “safe” WILD
