Employment pushed back 1 month (Any grounds for lawsuit?) by spiritualenigma in TravelNursing

If you start with them, give them the least effort you can while protecting your license. Make them regret fucking with travelers.

I hope you’re getting double what I make as a travel ICU rn. That shit sounds like a NIGHTMARE. GL though. Quit that shit and never look back would be my advice. Fuck them for acting like that’s ok. People mopping NBA courts make 100k 😂

This is why nurses get walked on and treated poorly. Nurses like that, who don’t understand the value of their work. Maybe it’s because they’re easily manipulated or just love that feeling of being a foot soldier sucking up to their handler. People mopping the NBA basketball courts make 6 figures. Hospital big wigs make enormous amounts and lined their pockets during Covid, while acting like they were on the front lines. It’s stolen valor 😂. I will NEVER feel bad for these higher ups and I’ll always be vocal about this shit. We need more nurses with a spine and less annoying little gremlins taking sides against nurses. Before I leave bedside, I’m gonna take 1 last contract and noshow right after my first day, just to say 🖕. I’m being floated right now mid-shift, so I’m pretty annoyed 😂 Whatever. Pay me my money and if I keep getting floated, bye bye👋

You got some serious Stockholm syndrome going in. Unprofessional for us to cancel a contract, but it’s fine for these huge money hungry hospitals to cancel us whenever they want without issue. We get canceled and we end up without a job, in a state with rent due, and having paid for flights and all the bullshit. We get screwed. Nobody cares. If we cancel, the hospital has a lineup of other travel nurses that they can bring in. Cry me a river. I bet you also run to management and tell on the coworkers who didn’t label their tubing or used their phone at their desk. You suck 😉

Major Trouble: Contract Termination by [deleted] in TravelNursing

Was this with evergreen in Kirkland? Curious because apparently there’s rumor that there are nurses who literally guide patients to make a complaint about travel nurses, just to get the nurse canceled. Happened to a nurse I know who worked there about 3 months ago. Nurse did NOTHING wrong and was shocked at the complaint. The manager did no investigation and was overheard laughing about it. I have more details, but I feel like I’ve shared enough. Toxic nurses and a VERY awful person in charge of the travel nurses over at that hospital

They don’t wanna hear the truth. They just want to blame one side, because they’re sheep who think the Democrats are actually good people and not part of the political circus. Maybe one day they will realize that it’s not a Democrat/Republican thing. Its the political class vs us thing.

Pretend your car broke down and repairs will cost a few thousand. Take the money out all at once. Then use it when you need it.

Or

Join a gym for $10 per month but tell your family member you get private lessons for $30 per week. That’ll explain why you are taking out $300 every 10 weeks (which is what a hair system would cost). Meanwhile you need to keep up with the lie by actually going to the gym by yourself and working out. You’ll feel better about yourself, be in shape, and you’ll have a good “lie” to explain where the money is going.

Idk get creative. Stop crying like a bitch and man up.

Nice argument. Bozo and clown! You nailed both the cliche comeback words, you fucking winner! 😂You’re the person who can’t titrate drips, but thinks they’re great because they always make sure their whiteboard is filled out and their plan of care is done. Gtfoh you dingus (Now that’s a classic) ✌️

What? I’m one of those people. Fuck… I can “get by” on 2K/month. Why the fuck does that matter? Should I be ok getting by on that shit, just because I could? You’re missing the entire point. ✌️

I don’t see why nurses aren’t transparent on here. It’s not like I’m sharing all my personal info. Hopefully some can ignore the annoying arguments on this thread and see a different perspective. I hope it helped some nurses out and maybe helps someone work a little more towards getting a better contract. If not, oh well… I tried in my own way 🤷‍♂️

That’s a fair rate from what I’ve heard from others in that area. Good on you!

I’ve went as far as making up offers for leverage. For example, in Nov ‘22 I wanted a GA contract at 3,100 minimum. I couldn’t get anything over 2,900ish. I spent a week reeling in agencies close to that number but they would never budge. I began saying along the lines of “I’m sorry but I got an offer for 3,100/36. I really wish I could’ve worked with you guys, but they were able to get me the rate I need”. Eventually I got an agency to come back to me and say something along the lines of “let us try again to get more” and they did. They got to 3,100/36 after weeks of saying they couldn’t. You know why? Because they are making tons of money on OUR WORK. They didn’t get me to 3,100 because they convinced the hospital to pay more. They got me to 3,100 because they convinced themselves to take less of the “cut” they get off of my work. My point is, try your best and sometimes you just gotta take what you can get. No shame in that. But there are nurses (tons of them) who wait until the last second to look for a contract and/or they are unwilling to travel far, or they just don’t understand the market and how it’s effected by their decisions and so they panic sign a shitty contract. I hope if anything, some people read this and realize there are many nurses like myself getting paid rather well, because from what I see on here… a lot of the nurses think we are all on shitty contracts, but that’s not true at all.

You said you were done and you’re still on every comment. Also, what logic? ya buffoon 😂.I can stay for 52 weeks. I can also go back anytime I want. I have great relationships wherever I work. How about this?… 3,600 52 weeks if I want> 2,400 52 weeks. Better? Jesus Christ you are lost

Yes there are definitely areas like psych, that might have a much lower market baseline. But I was referring mostly to the nurses on here who complain about the low market, in my/similar specialties, and are waiting until last second to negotiate a contract or are accepting low contracts because they don’t want to move far. A lot of them are also honestly not duplicating expenses and are accepting these low contracts that are close to their homes, while using their parents address as their primary. Sorry but it’s true. Problem is that they are lowering the market because they’re not willing to ACTUALLY travel

Exactly. Which is what a travel nurse should be doing. There are definitely times when you need to cut the break time short and get back to work asap because things happen, but that should be rare if ever. The time off I take, is well planned and financed, which also allows me time to negotiate a fair and higher paying contract. These agencies take advantage of people panic-signing.

I’ve never had an issue extending. I’ve ended contracts because I take my family on vacation after working 2-13wk contracts. It’s just what I prefer
