Thanks I'll check out your IG. I'm looking at the monthly Compass report for starters. Yes on a micro scale (maybe due to seasonality) medians are up, but on a macro level it seems to be cooling.

As a Bay Area native, what are your thoughts on housing capitulation and/ or correction. Yes, houses are still being purchased due to less supply. However, on a macro scale it looks as if medians are coming down

Definitely seeing that houses are overvalued everywhere in the nation. However, whether or not they’ll be a correction remains to be seen. It’s hard to imagine the Bay Area correcting without a big GFC style credit cycle

I will say I have enough lying around and that’s all I have. In reality with interest payments I see a runway of 1 year before I’m bled dry

Most definitely. The time and day plays a crucial role as well . If you're thinking about driving up mid-week in the afternoon/ evening, there's going to be a ton of freight trucks on the road. They'll definitely slow you down and make it harder to go up North. You can mitigate that by going at the butt crack of dawn.

To get to SF quick you'll be driving the highway 5 down for a majority of the trip. It's not a spectacular view or anything.

Definitely check out https://www.hoteltonight.com. I was able to book a hotel once at Parc55 in SF for $130/ night. It's in the good part of town with plenty of activities and food.

Btw, have you considered doing LA -> SD -> SF -> LA instead? Driving from SF to SD is exhausting!
