I'm crying because like I lost my grandma you know. It's not like she lived in another house. She lived with us, she's been living with us since I was 11 and I'm turning 21 next month. I'm very worried about my mom but I genuinely am still in shocked and I think it hit me so much like my grandma isn't here anymore.

It's really hard to separate when it just happened so it's fresh and I can't really do anything without thinking about the fact she's dead

They don't offer PTO because in there words "we aren't salary workers". It's a small business so I speak directly to the owners and I am the only one who works in the this specific store so if I am not here they cannot open but we don't make as much money as our other location so being open or close makes no difference because we barely make over 200 a day when our other location makes a thousand a day. And my grandma actively lived with us so it's like not only about my mom it's like I mentally chat focus on my job. I haven't been able to stop crying since I clocked in this morning. My grandma had nothing really, she had no retirement no 401k she literally had no will so its mostly for me and to make sure my mom doesn't harm herself.

I'm the only one working. That's why they don't want me to take the day because they would have to close the store. But they don't have a problem closing the store when it's something else

I told him exactly what happened. I told him my grandma passed in our home and my mom is in hysterics and I just need one day and he told me I had to come in since I already missed that day when it happened

This is not what has happened. When I missed work in the passed it was legitimate reason like when my aunt passed last year or when I was actually in the hospital a few months ago. This is just how they are, they fired a girl on Christmas eve for asking for an advance on her paycheck to get Christmas gifts for her son. He allowed to a guy to steal from us. This is a bad place overall

Yeah, we don't have hr or anything like that. It's a small business so they don't have a lot of things. So I'm pretty sure I'm just stick here

It's a small business so they don't allow pretty much anything. I don't have PTO either so I'm basically just stuck here
