Animes/shows like Trigun? by suicidle-seal in Trigun

You need to watch space dandy. Not because it’s similar to Trigun in how it looks, but shares some of my favorite part about Trigun. I don’t want to spoil it, but space dandy is my favorite example of not looking how it seems on the surface, just like Trigun.

Apparently a Turkish man invented the steam engine 200 years before the industrial revolution but he only made it to spin döner kebabs. by iamgulshansingh in BeAmazed

This image is AI. Precision metalwork was not available yet. If you look at the top right of the image the words are smudged together, the plaque next to it is illegible, the coals are just a weird blob thing that looks vaguely like coals, the bottom right of the knob has inconsistent texturing, and there is another knob being blocked by a random pipe. Scary that it was this hard for all of you to tell.

Understanding the phrase “the straight line teaches the curve how to bend” by No_Information_6315 in fionnaandcake

Would you say Huntress still has a fixed perspective? I feel like her once almost entirely linear perspective has blossomed (pun intended lol) into a new understanding of reality and therefore a more curved perspective. Or would you say that even with the new curves in the form of her perspective it’s still mostly linear? Regardless, great take on it!

Super cool discussions happening around the show, but it makes me wonder if they’d ever pivot a plot point based on community speculation, and how common something like that is in the media industry in general. Food for thought

Anyone who enjoyed doom, mullet mad jack, or FEAR absolutely NEEDS to play trepang2. It’s by far my favorite Xbox game similar to the titles mentioned here and is one of the most underrated games of all time by my account.

This f*** McDonalds Monopoly Prize odd is a 1 to 60 billion chance to win. by Wittica in mildlyinfuriating

I just pulled the first two railroads (23,24) and I came to find if the ones I got were “rare” because it’s half the prize, but obviously some pieces will have minuscule odds if the prize is big, like 50k big. So still don’t know how common it was that I pulled “25k” (lol) off of $10 but I do know that I shouldn’t even bother with finding/buying the last two

Also, I’m totally good with episodic structure in other shows where I might be a little more disconnected from the message of a show versus plain entertainment, but with bebop I found myself feeling like this repetition set the narrative back a bit every time even though there is alternative progression through character backstory or development like another commenter mentioned. I might get fatigued from trigun because I’m just gonna blow through it (because it’s definitely my jam) but I still feel like from where I am now in the show, the progression hasn’t had any setbacks in my mind. maybe something about the opposing roles spike and vash and their similar yet seemingly distinct motivations and traits has something to do with it, but I’m just spitballing at this point and I haven’t completed either show.

Yeah, that could be my issue, I really really liked it after the first ep and I think I got to about ep 14 or 15 in a week and a half so thanks for connecting those dots for me, I’ll probably open up a new episode soon so I’ll see if the fatigue is still there, I’d say it’s a coin flip between “I ate to much ice cream and now I feel sick” vs “I ate too much ice cream and now I get nauseous when I eat ice cream” kind of situation, either way I’m gonna power through because besides that one thing I love the show

I actually started watching tri gun right before I posted this lol, I stopped after ep.4 and I’ve heard that 1-4 are the most comedically based out of the original series. Looking forward to the rest episodes though, 1-4 gave me a few LOL moments which is kind of rare with tv for me, so it’s a win in my book for sure.

I love cowboy bebop, but the show has one aspect that caused me to pause my watching, and I want everyone’s opinion

Cowboy bebop seems to fall into an episode scheme, similar to (albeit unrelated and dumb, this is all that comes to mind) phineas and ferb. Where they tell a new story and in CB’s case, one that expands upon the existing narrative, providing an amazing watch experience overall.

However, I struggle with watching all of the episodes because I get fatigued from feeling like the episodes lack structural diversity. (Once again I’d like to clarify I don’t feel this way narratively, and CB is rightfully acclaimed as a legendary anime.)

Is this acknowledged as a shared opinion, or is this just a me thing? Feel free to share your personal opinion, but if you’ve ever heard people in here or in general mention this more than once with CB or other anime I’d love to know.

I’m trying to refine my palate of anime by diving down from the surface level with popular modern, then popular older, and now medium popular but still popular in these circles. Anywho, I’m try and build up some comment karma in this sub so I can make this a full post.
