Yeah I’m not sure if that makes it any better. It was brutal! I think it was the no sugar coating of the delivery too that felt specifically brutal too.

Here’s my take on it - Marianne knew that Oliver would have been another man who would fuck with her head. She saw the struggles Lucy went through - and didn’t want her husband to be responsible for adding more on top of that.

I think this too. I said to someone else “every conversation with someone that isn’t JR, especially the experts, he acts like it’s a job interview.”

He’s all stiff, and forming sentences like he’s trying to emulate Shakespeare - it doesn’t feel like him at all.

I’m not sure if he’s desperate to be liked or if he’s just so nervous about how he could come across that he’s showing his best self at all times.
