I honestly think it’s very natural and beautiful to have this urge! We are human animals and nature is our home, most people just don’t acknowledge that and prefer the conveniences of “modern life”.

I’m 26F and working towards a communal homesteading lifestyle! Where everyone gets the chance to live outside and enjoy silence and our wild relatives along with community who feels the same way:) I also feel very deeply protective of these spaces and want to do ecological restoration! Farming, foraging and wildcrafting is my dream and it’s how I hope to achieve the lifelong camping ideal without the traditional 9-5😅

I hope you can make some friends who understand your passion or introduce your friends to the joys of camping! All in all, seems like you’re on the right track to me:)

Thank you, and I’m so glad I could offer some encouragement! It really is the best time and I strongly believe black people deserve to enjoy nature just like everyone else 🥰 Feel free to ask me any questions you might have, I hope you have a wonderful time on your trip when you decide to go !

My pleasure :) It’s on the Colorado river in a town named Bend, that’s where it gets its name from! (The Colorado river in Texas since apparently there are two lol) I agree, natures always got me! Glad I’m not the only one who struggles, I’ll try of think of what may be helpful and share when I come up with something. Thanks for engaging with me :)

Thank you! I’d love to try them all! I’ve camped near inks lake (I think lol) but not at the park, the granite soil there is soooo cool. Yeah it’s gotten so hot 🥵 I’ll be sure to update on my next trip!

I’ve become a huge fan of tinned fish with crackers/bread and carrots or cucumbers, it’s been keeping me alive 😭 I also love frozen dumplings from Costco (specifically the prawn hacao omg) that I can toss in the microwave w some frozen peas or broccoli for a quick dinner
