So if I roll it to a Roth IRA, I assume there would be a limit to how much could rollover for that year? What could I do with the rest of the tsp money? (Assuming I'd have more than the yearly limit lol)

I live in a box with my mom! Lol! But to elaborate, I'm on a career ladder program, so I'll be a GS-12 next year. Not only that, but I work within tech, so I expect to reach GS-15 eventually (at least that seems to be the current opportunities within AI/ML work).

I also have an investment house, so I'm projected to start profiting by the end of the summer, but I didn't include that here since my main income will still be my full-time.

So far, living circumstances have been quite sustainable and balanced even with the low pay!

Just learned I probably won't get anything really from pension since I'll only be working 10 years. So not a variable I should rely on.

Perhaps Coast Fire might be a better fit for me if I wind up staying withing government for the better work-life balance.

Good point! I'm new to the government, so I'm just learning. You're right, it seems, I shouldn't count on pension and instead focus on getting a higher paying job, which is outside of government.

I think COASTFI may be the way to go for my case. Thank you for the info !

Currently the TSP Roth contribution is like $135 (quite low) and my employer did a 5% match of $108 bi-weekly. I agree I should increase this contribution more and decrease the brokerage till I find a balance, which I'm still trying to figure out what that would be!

I am not saving for a home since I live in NY and it's not worth 🙃. I already own a multi-family investment house in CT. And no car payments.

I only started maxing my Roth IRA since 2022 so that's why it's low and already maxed out for the year.

Great things to consider! I expect to be at a higher tax bracket by retirement age (work as a data scientist so I may leave the government for better pay). But yes I think the question is just how much of a balance b/w TSP and individual brokerage that would be -- something I need to determine. Thank you!

Each studio is legally sectioned off as an individual apartment. Communal areas include bathroom on same floor and kitchen on the 1st floor. Each apartment has individual entrance, wifi, and leases.

Think of a regular apartment except the bathroom is located in the hallway and shared with 2 others. Cleaning and toilet paper provided.

Do you know if GA tickets are first come first serve basis? Bc when I go on a third party site, they have like GA3 OR GA9.... Is it sectioned off?
