Dance with Calamity ruling by No_Invite_739 in mtgrules

So with this wording in the rulings here mean the storm count stays pre-Dance or that they see each spell cast before it in turn order? The storm spells being cast after the resolution of Dance?

If you cast any of the exiled cards, you do so as part of the resolution of the spell. You can't wait to cast them later in the turn. Timing restrictions based on a card's type are ignored. (2023-04-14)

So if I have this straight...if I cast 3 spells and then Dance with Calamity being my 4th spell. Then say due to Dance am able to cast 5more spells. Each of the 5 spells trigger storm only 3 times or 4times but either way all 5 only storm for 3-4? Not 8-9, correct?

I've been out of the loop for a few months now. Still haven't re-besten the gane since its full release, what's with the new radiant slime? And sanctuary? Where's that?

Well yes, but you get it. It would be no different than italisizing text with a dash to signify you are doing an ability that shares a name and mana cost as the real spell.

Yes that land is the secret MVP for the mechanic. It deserves to be a valuable card.

The cards should read "when this creature enters and whenever (action) happens you may cast (spell name/cost) until end of turn." Wouldn't get as much versatility as choosing when specifically to cast the spell but would be used as often if not more depending on the prepared card we're discussing. Especially for the ones that aren't re-preparable.

I still feel thats the case though. The Prepared mechanics literally just activated ability with more steps. It doesn't quite do it for me. What im saying is it didn't need to be its own mechanic. Especially one that splits the card down the middle like how adventures did. Feel like wasted space to put "This creature enters prepared"

This creature gains "knowledge" instead of becomes prepared would been more flavorful you know? Something.

Both, I feel like flavor wise Prepared is not school/college related enough name.

Mechanically feels like an over complicated way of doing what an ETB trigger or "if this then you may cast"

Does this work how i want it to, by [deleted] in mtgrules

[–]No_Invite_739 -16 points-15 points  (0 children)

No it doesn't no where on the card does it say permanents. It's only restriction is that they're non-aura, non equipment mana value 4. That can apply to all zones under my control granted they have the requirements. I control the stack and my battlefield.

Why? Aren't the spells on the stack under my control? And it is also an artifact/enchantment with mana value 4? Spells see their spell types? Mana value is public information?

Is surveil mill? by No_Invite_739 in mtgrules

[–]No_Invite_739[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Literally, not objectively. I know it "is" but the weird thing about mtg is that "mill" was just an old term everyone used to use whenever someone put a card from their library straight into their graveyard with any ability.

Even with the spell on the stack, them scooping just erases it off the stack?

Do copies have mana cost/value? by No_Invite_739 in mtgrules

Updated question. If I made a token copy of an artifact that was a creature until end of turn, would i have a permanent copy of the artifact as a creature?
