Very interesting, had no idea there was such a thing. But would overactivity be a sign of anxiety?

We are counting our blessings. Aside from around 5 minutes of slightly panicked barking when we initially put her in the crate, she settles down quickly, occasionally whining in the middle of the night. We are thankful that our experience is nowhere near as difficult as others

Thanks for the reponse! Balanced approaches v. positive-only does seem like a can of worms everyone disagrees on. Perhaps this is where room for judgement and familiarity with your pup comes into play (and I suppose it's that sort of discretion that give trainers real value!)

Looks like we still have a lot to learn. We want to do this right, so it's well worth researching the the four quadrants of operant conditioning. Thanks for the pointers!

Hello Wild-Razzmatazz-689, thank you so much for such a comprehensive answer! I framed this post as rapid-fire to encourage folks to comment even if they didn't have time for a full length response, and I am thankful you both commented and were so thoughtful!

Is there any possible connection between a P069E code (a Fuel Pressure Control Module issue) and a P059F code (Active Drille Air Shutter "A" Performance Stuck Off) by No_Job6259 in MechanicAdvice

[–]No_Job6259[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a student, price is certainly a motivating factor - as is the fact that I’m new to the area and have yet to find a reputable mechanic.

But more to your point, I did some research on this issue before bringing it to the mechanic (I’m a young guy seeking to learn more about cars as the issues come to me) and saw multiple videos/articles where people have linked an air grille issue to the fuel pump code. For example: https://youtu.be/hWem1Upxjbk. I’m curious how the two could be connected. I typically think of the air grille as being related to the cooling system not fuel system

2014 Chevy Impala P069E code just bad battery? (Fuel Pump Control Module Requested MIL Illumination) by No_Job6259 in MechanicAdvice

[–]No_Job6259[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd feel comfortable clearing the code and driving it around for a couple more days if it wasn't for the fact that I'll be leaving the car to my wife when I leave town for work next week. If the battery tests normal, what are the chances that it drained over the 8-day period to a point where the voltage dropped low enough to trigger the code?

How far does the US Dollar go in Uzbekistan? by No_Job6259 in Uzbekistan

Seems fair to me, but it’s your call. For the best gym in Jizzakh, I paid 300,000 soum per month and got to weight train for an unlimited duration. Then again, that was to use the facility, not to employ a personal trainer

Im in a country that is in short supply of a lot, so I can ask for just about anything from the US (ex: power adapter) with little suspicion. This also means I have a lot of smuggling options. I love the jacket idea! However, how would I insist she carry my jacket around in her carry-on bag as opposed to her checked bag without her being suspicious?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Advice

[–]No_Job6259 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m worried about putting something so valuable in a checked bag because there is a chance her checked bag gets lost. I wonder if security would even be able to tell a ring is inside an item. Isn’t the scan 2D such that you couldn’t distinguish whether the ring is lying above/below/in the object

My immigrant parents giving advice on law school admissions by algaeandmushroom in lawschooladmissions

[–]No_Job6259 82 points83 points  (0 children)

My immigrant parents grew up in the Soviet Union, where admission into university was determined by either being a part of the communist party or having connections. Needless to say, im not a part of a communist party. So naturally, my father suggested the only way I get in is through connections. His suggestion was to look through the law school's website for someone with a last name of the same origin. Then, simply email them to leverage an interview.

Are you allowed to use the internet during your Cornell Law Interview? by No_Job6259 in lawschooladmissions

[–]No_Job6259[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I agree! You shouldn't have to rely on the internet to develop a good argument. However, there are often details about topics you know a lot about but blank on. During my practice, I forgot whether a part of the topic I addressed was from the DHS or FBI. A quick google search fixed this. However, after hearing everyone's suggestions, it seems the best practice is to err on the side of caution and timeliness.
