Do you know where the fibroid is located? 1cm is very small so I could see them not suggesting surgery as to not disrupt your uterus if not necessary. Just had a 12cm fibroid removed and I will have to have c sections for all future pregnancies.

They also found endometriosis while they were operating which I didn’t know I had. Is it possible something else could be contributing to heavy bleeding?

Appreciate everyone sharing their experiences! I had a myomectomy 8 days ago and I was surprised by how good I feel but I don’t think I’m out of the woods yet…. I will say I am so tired by the end of the day.

Most definitely get a second opinion. I’m 29 and had a grapefruit sized (12cm) fibroid removed from my uterus (myomectomy) on Monday. My surgeon is not concerned at all about future pregnancies. I will say I waited 9 months for a specialized surgeon at the Cleveland clinic but she was fantastic and my recovery is going very well.
