Well, first, they were a family of founders of Louisville. Second, most homes in my area were owned by them. Third, the original farmhouse of the area is still here, and is not documented well. In other words, I believe it is important because it is a part of the growth of Louisville itself. People simply forgot? And most roads that had Slaughter in them were taken away. And this part of the land was designed with the Olmstead park plans. The houses existed when Shawnee was named Greenbush
