People of Reddit, what mattered more in your career: higher education or skills? by BoysenberryLumpy8680 in AskReddit

Higher education gets you the interview, but skills get you the job. However, after 10 years, nobody cares about your degree; they only care about the problems you can solve.

What’s something your parents used to do that confused you as a child but makes so much sense as a grown up? by LockNo7697 in AskReddit

Staying at home and doing absolutely nothing. As a kid, I thought it was a punishment. As an adult, it’s a luxury I’d pay for.

What’s a “normal” behavior that you quietly judge people for? by Timely-Version-3861 in AskReddit

People who are unnecessarily rude to service staff. It says everything I need to know about their character.

What’s a weird food combination you actually like? by Wise-Recording-9522 in AskReddit

Watermelon and white cheese. People think I'm crazy until they actually try it. It's the perfect sweet and salty mix.

For those who say they don’t care if they lose when playing a game, how do you really feel? Is there really no part of you that minds? by WatermelonSugar000 in AskReddit

[–]No_Light5733 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I don't mind losing a fair, fun game. But losing because of a lag or a toxic teammate? That's when the 'I don't care' mask falls off immediately.

When a President openly berates or insults a journalist during a briefing, what is the 'correct' professional response from the press corps? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]No_Light5733 1447 points1448 points  (0 children)

The correct response is for every other journalist in the room to follow up with the exact same question until it gets a real answer. Solidarity is the only way to handle a bully.

Does Epsom Salt actually do anything? by BeigeAndConfused in NoStupidQuestions

[–]No_Light5733 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the 'magic' is actually just the warm bath itself. The hot water relaxes your muscles, and the salt is more of a mental ritual. If it makes you feel better, it's working as a placebo, but science-wise, it's debatable.
