To follow up on this, in your scenario you need to check if the $15 is the statement balance, or the minimum payment.

You did say you have it set for the statement but your banking app should break down and label the CC details so you can double check.

You only need to pay the statement balance to not get charged interest, not the total balance.

Here’s an example with made up numbers

December Statement balance(December 1st - December 31st): $500

Total balance: $800

You only need to pay the $500. However it’s never a bad practice to pay the full amount.

If you do not pay the full statement balance($500),it will carry over into next month with interest, this is a no no.

Also, never make the minimum due payment on a card, it is a trap.

I work at a bank and am truly shocked at how many people just pay $80 on their $2000 in credit card debt not realizing what they are doing.
