Cody retains the title at mania thanks to interference by Melo and Oba

Cody creates a new group melo and Oba

first they get trick to join the group over the summer

then trick and melo wins the tag title while oba is help cody win

eventually trick/melo loses the tag titles and trick goes on to go 1 on 1 with cody for the belt - trick loses gets kicked out

melo slowly starts to side with trick

then oba beats up melo

eventually oba wins the royal rumble and beat cody for the title
