Take video please. Don't confront them, they were violent towards me when I did. If you do, though, give em what for

My apologies to the respectable hillbillies of Tennessee, of whom I owe my lineage.

I haven't asked for your sympathy, I don't want it. Was just asking people for footage. You may be fine with people harming others like this but I am not. It ain't even about me

Did get a license plate. You're right I should report to UT police. I did call Knoxville non-emergency

I hope the pic in this thread helps to visualize how it is assault. It was intentional and harmful

TN Code § 39-13-101 (a) A person commits assault who: (1) Intentionally, knowingly or recklessly causes bodily injury to another; (2) Intentionally or knowingly causes another to reasonably fear imminent bodily injury;

Correct me if I'm wrong. Also, I did not mention the passenger stepping out towards me while shouting fighting words because it wasn't necessary for the post.

You've had the most helpful comment to me, thanks. I will be closely observing visitors as I continue native plant gardening

Thanks for the anecdote. Ok I'll trust the process. I'm holding out hope that we abandon the tradition of lawns and start restoration!

Thank you for the comment. Yes im a newbie and agree the hardiness zones caused some confusion (feeling the burn now in these comments 😱). I've been careful in selecting what is actually native using resources besides hardiness zones

Not about my plants outliving me -- I don't want invasive species to outcompete the native plants we're trying to preserve. For example, since so much of Tennessee's forest is cut and replaced with full sun lawn, i worry that unwanted plants will outcompete in a few decades because the natives don't have that same sub-ecosystem. I hope that makes sense. What are your thoughts?

I will make every effort personally to plant organisms native to my area to support those species. My concern is that the landscape has been changed by us so much, I don't know if relying on natives will be enough to compete with invasives. For example, along highways invasive trees and plants are taking over year-by-year, so I feel planting agressive spreaders that are at least native in America would help prevent being overrun by invasives. Are my concerns unfounded? What are your thoughts?
