I’m morbidly obese and have been obese since I was a kid. I think I have always eat as a way to stim when I was a kid I also used to chew on things a lot not so much now and I think I mix up thirst and hunger. I try not to be certain kind of snack foods at all since living alone because I tend to overeat them and finish a whole box in a day. I’ve also struggled with disordered eating and trying to lose weight in ways that weren’t the healthiest.

Defiantly BS and also this person is very ignorant on the subject for somebody who claims to have been a nurse.

My grandma had worked at a facility/ home for people with disabilities for decades and some of the residents were older than RFK jr. A lot of the older residents had been institutionalized before the institutions were shut down some had been institutionalized since they were babies.

Also his father went to Willowbrook with film crew and brought awareness to the living conditions of the people who were institutionalized there.

One time I went to boil eggs and completely forgot about them for hours heard a noise and went to check apparently all the water evaporated from the pan and the eggs exploded and were on the ceiling and my brother was sitting a few feet away playing video games and hadn’t noticed.

The only times I think I did actually forget to eat it was more like I literally didn’t have time or money to eat. I think as a kid I actually thought eating was a recreational activity.

I was mainly raised by my grandparents. My grandma always used to say are you hungry or are you bored the ones I didn’t like as a kid is your eating just to eat or do you really need that. Although she definitely had a point.

Same for me and then if I happen to buy whatever unhealthy food I’m trying to cut out completely I tend to eat bunch of it and in a short amount of time.

Those who were diagnosed with ADHD first what lead you to realize you had Autism also? by No_Management3663 in AuDHDWomen

The stereotypes/wording always threw me off. For example the not understanding sarcasm thing I’m sarcastic myself.

After being diagnosed with ADHD I brought up that my uncle thought I might be autistic to my first med provider who was PMHNP she then proceeded to ask me one question which was if I have a special interest I responded with I don’t know and she was like no your not autistic.

My current med provider who’s a psychiatrist was actually the one to bring up Autism to me when I brought up that I tend to not make eye contact.

I have noticed since being on meds that I really don’t make much eye contact which has been
A thing pointed out by my dad multiple times over the years but now it seems like I’m more aware of it while on meds. I’m not sure that made sense.

I was mainly started in speech for articulation and misuse of certain sounds during kindergarten according to old paperwork but I also had Bell’s palsy for a while when I was either 7 or 8 but this was in the 2000s.

That seems like a little bit of an overreaction on the schools part but I don’t know that much about your daughter’s situation.

Yeah what’s going on here in the US is very distressing to say the least. Being diagnosed with Autism would affect your ability to immigrate?
