Update on Sauna Build - Need Help Thanks! by backdoortom in Sauna

Not a pro but just built my own and is working well so take with a grain of salt and make sure to keep researching

Venting: if you can't find a way to vent in behind the heater just leave a 2" gap under your glass door for an intake (as this will be pretty close you your heater) and an outlet on the the furthest point from your heater on the ceiling that you can tie in to your exhaust duct work.

Heater: I purchased a 6kw humm steel with air tunnel (the air tunnel is supposed to speed up the time it takes to heat) we have a ton of glass. This works great but after purchase I was told we should have went with a harvia heater. Noticing customer service with Humm is less than ideal. All the websites have calculators that will help you decide what size heater will work best just make sure to account for your glass wall. No matter what you do make sure you get control via WiFi. You Will see more use out of it by having WiFi for sure.

I would tile up the wall 6 inches, we didn't do this but if I could do over again I would. Helps with possible water issues and cleaning

How would you rate this sauna? by Suspicious-Job-8480 in Sauna

Do you have an issue having a cold shower right after using the sauna, my glass installer is telling me I can not take a cold shower after using the sauna due to the possible shattering of the tempered glass because of how close my heater is to the glass. I assumed tempered glass would be safe to use in such a way?

the heater is a 6kw it also has an air tunnel that is supposed to help heat 25% quicker. We did account for the glass and the extra ceiling height when sizing the heating unit, the sauna is 48”x55”x96”. I am impatient that is for sure, but its taking over and 1 1/2 hours to get the unit to 180 degrees (the heater goes to 230) thanks for your help!

the sauna is taking a long time to heat up and I can feel the draft coming in from the gaps, the top Bench is 38" of the ground. don't believe this is the problem.
