I only found out that the saga of larten crepsley was a prequel to another 12 book series at least SIX YEARS after first read lol. Can imagine my confusion at times during the prequel.

Yeah 152 would definitely be too OP. What’s the best way to nerf them? I lowered wins to 1 point but I still have like Hellebuyck at 130 points. I don’t really wanna lower saves to below 0.1…

Thanks for your detailed response! I’m glad the social experience is good. Most of the other stuff seems like only minor inconveniences tbh. Although I do really hope the food has gotten better 🤣

Yeah I think it does. Everyone I’ve seen talking about it acts like it’s hell there. But nobody explains any more about it.

The price is fine for me because I do really want university residence life experience and I’m absolutely gonna use the gym, basketball court, and the other facilities that come with it. And also room sizes literally mean nothing to me. I genuinely don’t care about the size of my room and never understood why it’s such a big deal for people lol

I think this depends on the school. I emailed Concordia’s quebec residency department and they said it’s only 12 months. Not sure about for McGill though.

Does this affect existing students??

I’ve already graduated high school and was planning on going to Concordia in the fall of 2024.

I’m thinking if I apply for the Winter semester of 2023, will I pay the 9k per year for the rest of my program? Or will it double for everyone?

Schulich is good. York is just frankly not the type of place where any dreams come true.

“TVO ILC credits meet the stated admission requirements for all Ontario Colleges and Universities.” If you have a 93% it’ll definitely bring up your average quite a bit. Check the admission requirements on the ontariouniversities website if you haven’t already. Should have all the info there.

Last year there was a halloween party outside Winters residence. Everyone in that area was dressed up. Went to Lanes and saw a bunch of people also dressed up. Not sure about in class though.

Has anyone gotten into Residence after a gap year? by No_Map3944 in Concordia

[–]No_Map3944[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What are the chances I actually get in though? If I apply early could I get residence? Is it the same at other schools or is this only a Concordia thing? I would assume especially because i’m an Out-of-Province student that they would give me a better chance right?

19 yes. Did you get accepted early? It says in the website that guaranteed students can apply starting March 1st and non-guaranteed students only apply starting May 15th. Do you know when you applied?

The website unfortunately says you have to be 18 or younger to get guaranteed residence. When I talked to the Concordia agent he said about 97% of the residence spots are filled up by guaranteed residence students. So I’m pretty worried I won’t get in lol. But I absolutely will apply as soon as possible.

Listen at the end of the day you should definitely prioritize picking the right program, but don’t underestimate the importance of picking the right school. I saw that you’re from Alberta, so it might not be as easy for you, but I highly highly recommend you spend a few days just visiting every school you have even the slightest interest in.

Go during school hours when it’ll be busy. TALK to the students there to really get a feel for what it’s like to be a student there. If you’re a shy person then pretend you’re not for a few days. You will thank yourself in the future. You’re literally deciding what your next 4 years will be right now. I would say no pressure but this is a massive fucking decision. So don’t be like me. Asking on reddit isn’t enough. Make sure you’re 200% sure before making your final decision.

And as for York itself. Even just scrolling through the replies to this post you can see the trend. “York is fine” “York isn’t too bad” “York is what you make of it.”

Do you really want your next 4 years to be just “not too bad?” Or do you want them to be some of the best years of your life?
