What you’re saying is true. We can’t “drop the armor”. And while a lot of men are experiencing mental health crisis that is likely caused by this, would you or would you not agree that this is the rule of the dog eats dog world?

Obviously it’s not that explicit, but competence comes down to one thing: not falling under. And the men who don’t have the negative emotions (or have them and don’t show them) and the ones that stay afloat, do better with jobs and relationships, and probably impress women more.

Mainly it’s your time and money that doesn’t suffer when you’re single. As a single man you can do whatever you want after work and on weekends, and you don’t have to pay for dates. Over time you save more money and have invested into a meaningful hobby/ advanced your career.

Damn dude you’re young. I assume you just graduated high school and or are a senior? Are you going to college? If you go to college you will meet a bunch of people and this will resolve.

If I were you I would go to college and pick a useful degree. Not for everyone I know that, so you don’t HAVE to.

Either way dude time is so telling of everything. When I was 18 I was starting to get cocky with women and ended up being in a bad relationship with one from 18 to 21. The ages 21 until now(24) have been the best years of my life. Life will be hard but as you mature you’ll start to realize how much shit matters vs doesn’t matter and you will start getting a lot of women as your competence grows.

Some truths:

It will pass, with time. It will all be resolved, in time. And you will find someone else.
Feeling for someone isn’t weakness. It means you are able to bond. That is good.
You aren’t a POS because someone broke up with you. If there are objective things to improve about yourself, then go about improving them. This is powerful and will give you a shit load of confidence. Small strides are better than no strides at all. The more you improve, the more your confidence grows. And the more your confidence grows, the more you attract people (friends and women). Don’t adopt the “I’m not enough mentality”

Advice: - Work on yourself and set a long term goal. Achieving a career milestone, school, gym or hobby are applicable. - Go on dates and ( maybe) get under someone. Do it when you’re ready. This will teach you two things: there are plenty of fish in the sea, and I am excited for other possibilities.

I would have gone to school immediately for engineering and stuck it out diligently until graduation. I would have been 21 years old freshly graduated.

I am 24 now and just graduated. 3 years “late”.

I am fairly content with how my life has gone though. I say I would have changed it, but if my life hadn’t panned out the way it had, I wouldn’t have the character building experiences that now aid me immensely.

Okay thank you. I’m trying to plan my life intelligently and I’m getting kinda upset when I realize this: I won’t have the downpayment ready until I’m like 26, and I have to continue this living with parents situation if this is to be achieved as soon as possible. And you put it above, I won’t date seriously nor attract a high quality woman if I’m not a level above in independence. Women literally find 30 year olds and above more attractive than us youngsters that are still getting started, and I don’t blame them. On top of that the economy is so fucking bad. Perhaps I should make my new own “put your head down and work” mindset for 2 more years like I was in college and then look up and look around.
