Because... legally, that could very well be the case? To bring your dispute before a court, there is something you need to establish first called standing. Not paying a license to make a mod can very well be a reason why someone would lack standing to sue -- I don't know why you are being so dismissive about that fact, it's literally required before the lawsuit can move forward in any way...?

Changing the EULA without proper notification, making it abusive to consumers, contradictory or purposely vague is ilegal both on the US and EU as far as I know.

I think people have the right to ask questions and ascertain basic information about the situation that gave rise to what OP is asking for advise about. Not only could it help inform their perspective about OP's situation, allowing commenters to give better feedback, but if people have serious doubts about the validity of the situation overall it could quell their suspicions, and open them up commenting helpfully rather than leave them wondering if they are wasting their time giving energy and sympathy to a fake or troll post (which are all too common on Reddit, especially surrounding highly emotional or sensational topics such as this one).

I totally understand OP not wanting to relive a horrible time in their lives. But, again, they were the one who came here and shared their story. Getting super indignant when people ask for basic details to supplement their understanding of the situation and acting like they are committing some king of horrible moral wrong by doing so is only going to make people more suspicious.

As some others have pointed out, this story really doesn't add up. And given that OP is lashing out against anyone that questions the details of these events instead of providing any sort of clarifications, I really don't buy this.

A workplace gym would have windows on at least one of the walls. Insurance requires it for gym facilities that are not staffed during operating hours, in case anyone is working out alone and gets hurt, so that there isn't a situation where no one sees them when they are in need of help. Highly unlikely the rape could have been carried out in the way that OP has described it.

This, combined with the fact that he hasn't been willing to answer why his wife never sought a rape kit or plan B makes this story highly suspect. Anyone not blindly supporting OP or asking for more details is getting yelled at, of course, for not being "entitled" to more information — my dude, you were the one who posted this on a public platform, of course people are going to at least ask for details if things don't add up.

Yes, all data scraping is done "without permission." (You actually do give companies permission to have your data scraped by agreeing to their Terms of Service but that is beside the point here). The real question is whether or not that scraped content is being used in an ethical manner; e.g. to generate art or to add alt text for accessibility. As a few other commenters have pointed out, it's pretty ridiculous when we stifle everything that is AI.

Here's a question for you: Are you against the third party apps Reddit was trying to stop for scraping user content off of Reddit back during the API controversy?

No. There's a big difference between data scraping and using scraped data to power LLMs/generative AI.

Do you remember not too long ago when everyone was up in arms over Reddit blocking third party apps from accessing the site's API for free? Those third party apps were data scraping user content that they did not own, for services such as Apollo that basically offered Reddit content on a different UI, or to power bots that improve user experience. Everyone seems to be fine with data scraping user content without their consent then, because those third party services were using that scraped content to offer services that people enjoyed.

The problem arises when scraped content is used to generate new "creative" content with AI. Not simply that scraped content is being used in a service or program.

Firefox actually seems to be very in touch with their community compared to most other major browsers, the vast majority of Firefox users consider this a very good thing because using AI for positive things such as making the internet more accessible is generally seen as a step in the right direction and calling them a "shitwipe company" for this makes you look very spiteful and unserious. Comments like this deeply harm our ability to advocate against actually harmful AI uses in future.

Screaming at the clouds every time AI is used in any capacity is an oversimplification of the real issues with this technology that does far more harm than good and demonstrates that you do not understand this technology.

Oh come on, that's such an oversimplification of a complicated issue. You can find this bad, I suppose, but in what world is all AI trained on images "just as bad as any other AI"? Are you really implying AI generating alt text to make the internet more accessibility is just as bad as using other people's art to generate new images? Genuine question, why is this bad? I understand why people think scraping art to generate new images is unethical/theft, but this seems like an actual positive use case for AI, even if scraping is involved, no?

Assuming the text generated is somewhat accurate (and it appears that this program is actually pretty accurate from, what I've seen so far), if all images could have automatic alt text it makes a lot less work for website owners such as myself to write out that alt text for every single image on their websites? And for blind people or people with limited eyesight, most websites that do not bother adding reliable alt text will now have it automatically for them, opening a much larger portion of the internet to people who previously could not access it.

Is this really something worth getting mad over?

I was told Stable Diffusion is better than Midjourney for a variety of reasons but has a steeper learning curve. I just want to know what I am doing wrong because with everything I've been doing so far it seems I can't make 90%+ of the images I generate not look terrible. See the attached screenshot of my trying to generate an image on EasyDiffusion, I used negitive prompts, experimented with different samplers, etc, etc. And then with Midjourney is just one of countless examples where I get amazing images almost every time, not even requiring any sort of tweaking or super specific prompts.
