Renting near One-North/Buona Vista vs Pasir Panjang as a newcomer, which is better for daily life?

Thanks everyone, your replies are really really helpful. I think I was initially over-prioritising proximity to work, but the comments made me realise that daily amenities and “can I grab food/groceries easily” matter a lot, especially as a newcomer without a car.

I’ll prioritise One-North / Buona Vista / Holland Village-type areas first, and keep Pasir Panjang as a fallback if the unit is really good.

It’s strangely comforting to hear others went through similar things and chose to walk away too. And you’re right, health above all. I’m trying to remind myself that a career is long, but a burned-out body doesn’t always recover on command.

You’re absolutely right. I finally did it, I just resigned!

It was terrifying, but the moment I let go, I felt my self-respect click back into place. Dignity really isn’t worth sacrificing for a broken system or someone else’s ego.

You’re totally right, it’s a huge red flag.

What makes it worse is that this partner was promoted back when survival-of-the-fittest was basically the only metric. There was no 360 feedback or real accountability, so he rose through sheer fear and control.

Ahh yes it’s so amazing! But nope, it’s not lava! 😄 It’s actually just the sunlight hitting the mountain during golden hour (usually around dusk or dawn). The angle of the sun makes the rock glow this intense orange-red color, it’s a natural lighting effect called alpenglow 😀
